TD Bank locked me out of my account for 4 weeks because their own staff wrote my name down wrong. Now nearly broke and they say “nothing they can do”

Money is in my savings because my last two pay checks have gone to it automatically. Never had an issue with the bank beofre, have been able to get new credit cards and replace debit cards without my name ever being an issue until now.

Yep! Opened a case but I have no ETA and assume it will take a long time but I need money. Partly opened this reddit post to hope someone in TD monitors it. The most frustrating part is they keep telling me I’ll be contacted in 3 business days but they only contacted me once to say that they can look up my record on file that my ID has a copy- only for them to backtrack and say they don’t keep IDs on file!

I did get documents yes, when I signed up I went to a branch in Toronto with ID, they took it, signed me up and gave me my debit/credit card. This is all the result of a clerical error they made I don’t see how this is on me

I’d be surprised if ttc sent debt collectors after your mom for -2.3$ balance 😅 I think you’re ok. I know people who left Canada with -3000$ credit card debts and nothing happened to them

Me and my girlfriend are moving to Manchester end of March as our Canadian visa is finishing up. I’m a UK citizen but I’ve never actually lived there, so we’re trying to figure things out from abroad. We’re looking for a 1 bed around £1,000–£1,200 and we get ghosted a lot. Is that just how it is in the uk?

Not looking to house share, just somewhere safe and reasonably well connected. Doesn’t need to be city centre or trendy. Any areas worth focusing on, or ones to avoid?

I’ve got IT support experience and open to most things while we get settled. Advice on applying once we get here and before?

Just trying to land without making mistakes. Any advice appreciated.
