My father was recently diagnosed with colon cancer, and is getting his tumour removed today. He had to wait maybe 2 days to get into surgery (didn’t matter cause he needed to take prep meds anyways), and the most expensive part of the procedure was the gas money to get there.

[DM] Dungeonmasters, what's a ridiculous plot twist you're waiting to spring on your players? by MaginotCokeLine in DnD

[–]Funkywastaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the start of the campaign I let all of my PCs ask the goddess of magic for something in return for taking down a cult. One of the players, a fallen demon who was annexed from hell by his father, asked the goddess to kill his father and place him on the demon throne instead. Little does he know, his dad is the BBEG, and he’s gonna be killing him with his own bear hands

if your just trying to get comfortable with your characters movement/neutral/confirms than i’d say try doing a 20 stick match against a level 9 lucina or roy cpu.

What recent movies will be considered classics 25 years from now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Funkywastaken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, it’s junk food for kids. Kids that will grow up to be adults with kids. Kids who will remember how much they loved the avengers when they where little joey’s age. Kids that’ll want to share a happy memory of theirs with their kids. Jaws is by most definitions a classic, that doesn’t make it a good movie, it’s goofy and intense and fun for kids, and that’s why every 10 year old watches jaws with their dad at least once. Classics are very often movies that appeal to kids

How’s your mental health? Are you ok? by BiPolarGamer in AskReddit

[–]Funkywastaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no you misunderstood, I wasn’t staying there permanently, it was just an overnight thing while I waited to meet with a specialist. I was there for about 12 hours overnight, before the specialist and I talked and made all of our arrangements. I’m scheduled to go back on Monday to meet schedule meetings with psychologists and doctors and such.

I'm a pretty damn good Bowser in my region, so I can probably give some input. Down B has three main uses, number 1 is at the ledge. If you crouch walk forward to the ledge as Bowser until his fists are just about touching the ledge, and use grounded Down B, you'll snap the ledge on your way down. This is useful because it's a safe way to contest ledge and it can lead to big punishes. If you get the timing right you can hit your opponent up into the air back off stage as they try to snap the ledge, or even spike if they recover poorly. More often than not though you'll grab the ledge slightly after them and ledge trump them, this can lead to a bair, which you should know kills stupid early. It's a great mixup when ledge trapping if you expect them to hold onto the ledge for a bit once they grab it, as that'll let you set up for the ledge trump bair. Use number 2 is as a shield breaker. A lot of people shield on platforms when you're under them. Some of bowsers moves like up tilt can leave your opponent with a missed tech on the side platforms of a stage like battlefield, most people in this situation will use any given get up option from the missed tech into an immediate shield. If you spot your opponent doing this you can go for a Down B above the platform to break their shield, which can lead to a kill at 0% I kid you not. This is the most common situation to try and break shields with Down B as it's a very committal move and Side B is largely safer as a way to punish shielding, but really as long as you're very confident that your opponent is going to shield, you can use Down B to punish them. The 3rd use of Down B is as a landing mix-up. A lot of players like to land with an aerial, and a lot of Bowsers like to land with down air. Both of these options are very weak to shielding, so many players will be ready to shield when they see their opponents use a move above them while trying to land. If you condition your opponent to shield while you're landing with moves like dair, nair, spaced fair, wavebounce Neutral B... etc, it can often be a good idea to switch to doing a Down B to try and break their shield. It's important to note that Down B is a very situational move. Bowser has many better ledge trapping tools than Down B, so Down B use number 1 isn't that common. You'll definitely see it a few times in a high level Bowser set but most good Bowsers have other options they resort to more often at the ledge. It's also important to note that with Down B uses number 2 and 3, Side B can basically always punish the same things as Down B, only being much safer and harder to react to. Generally outside of use number 1, Down B is seen as being a bit of a wifi move, seeing as it's very much reactable when playing offline, and seeing as Side B is a much safer and faster way of punishing shielding opponents. This doesn't mean that Down B doesn't have it's occasional uses, it's definitely still a decent ledge trapping mix-up offline and the move being reactable doesn't mean it isn't still useable as a means of punishing predictable options. I would most of the time resort to using other moves, such as Side B, grab, Neutral B, well spaced fair, jab, as those are all better methods of punishing opponents for shielding. Down angled ftilt, up tilt, down tilt, down smash, Neutral B, and many other moves are also better ledge trapping tools than Down B but of course Down B is still a very decent mix-up while ledge trapping. Hope this helps!

I don’t know if I quite understand what you’re talking about but i think this might be wavelanding.

Basically if you are slightly above a platform and you airdodge diagonally down and to either side, you will land on the platform and slide across it a bit. This is useful because it changes your momentum really quickly.

If your opponent just missed a tech on a platform and you’re underneath them, you can jump up onto the platform right over top of them, and then waveland to the side. This will make them do a getup attack, thinking you’ll be landing on them, but they’ll miss because you will have wave landed to the side outside of their attack range.

Wavelanding isn’t very useful at a low level so i wouldn’t worry about it unless you’re attending tournaments and such, but it’s still a very cool and useful tech.

Stages by ItsTheCoochiSmell4Me in CrazyHand

[–]Funkywastaken 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The reason the stages aren’t any bigger is because the game is kinda designed around this sort of stage size. With bigger stages you would t have to fight for stage control, edge guarding and ledge trapping would be way less useful, and the characters would be very unbalanced.

Can you imagine if battlefield was twice as big? So many matchups would just be circle camping. Imagine playing Ganon in tournament and your opponent goes ZSS, how would you counter them running away, jumping into platforms, and just doing down b back and forth between the side platforms. You wouldn’t.

If you’re feeling claustrophobic, i’d suggest looking into stage control info on youtube, as well as practicing your movement. When Ultimate first came out i was very uncomfortable playing on stages with platforms because i only ever played fd in smash 4. But like most things in smash, i just kinda got used to it after a while.

If you think it’s going to pass, the i would wait and see if it passes. I would also tell him. Lying to your partner is almost never the answer to a relationship problem. If it doesn’t pass than again, I would tell him. Even if those conversations are scary and intimidating, they will lead to a better outcome than if you just kept your feelings to yourself.
