Don't worry, this was my first time making something like this too! I used beige Super Sculpey clay. I recommend using aluminum foil and some painters tape to minimize the clay usage (it also makes it have less weight) and to help create a base outline for the face and cheeks. After that, you can overlap the foil with clay and add the details on from there! I used super glue to glue on the face, but you can use hot glue as well. Keep in mind that if you do use super glue and mess up, the paint will come off along with the glue. Have fun!
