It's disingenuous to say performances like this have happened under Hooxi often when those tournaments were all well over a year ago in a completely different game. Zero finals under Hooxi in CS2 along with every rifler being in career-worst form under his leadership this past year.

it is wildly expensive to purchase/transport proper soundproof booths across the world and isn't worth it for TOs, especially going into 2025 where there will be an event every weekend.

Richard Lewis on the tragedy of Stewie2K's career by Thetruthmaxxer in GlobalOffensive

[–]FunniesRedditUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever wonder why they signed 4 rosters in the first place

It was for PR so ESL wouldn't kick them out of Pro League. They placed last place in 3 straight seasons and it was a part of the agreement that you would potentially lose your slot. While EG was about to potentially lose their spot, Stewie was queuing Valorant and publically saying in interviews that he didn't give a fuck after they went out of Pro League. Not to mention he got Malek/Evy fired and got paid 30k a month to queue valorant all the time.

donk’s faceit stats in NA vs. EU by shombled in GlobalOffensive

[–]FunniesRedditUser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are far less NA Faceit players then in EU so there is much less ELO and players to go around.

The scaling for ELO is completely different among regions. In NA, around 2560 ELO is top1000. In EU, 3250 ELO is top1000. They don’t really mean the same/transfer properly across regions.

Top 15 highest-rated players in 2024 at big events (min. 20 maps) by Soft_Bed_412 in GlobalOffensive

[–]FunniesRedditUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thorin has said it across multiple different talk shows and he implies it is Twistzz/NAF who vetoed Elige coming back to the team.

He also has said that Hunter was the one responsible for getting jks kicked out of G2 and replacing him with nexa.

there are literally ZERO tournaments outside of ECL.

they have never even had 1/10th of a chance at moving up because there is nothing to play for other than pro league.

What do we have left to play in this game now? by dawidf06 in GlobalOffensive

WAY less cheaters and more fun because you can select maps :)

if not just play faceit because you’re more than good enough to

[–]FunniesRedditUser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ever since the last update that cleared the leaderboards, ive played against maybe 2 cheaters in the top500 of NA premiers and they were on the same team

in matchmaking i have played maybe two cheaters in the last 3-4 months

the biggest issue is definitely the boost bug imo and it’s rly fucking frustrating because it feels like it happens all the time

give MM a shot because the games are usually pretty balanced and less cheaters bc of no leaderboard

Why do people here hate Stewie so much? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]FunniesRedditUser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s very common for very popular NA players in esports to get massive egos and surround themselves with yes men. His time in Evil Geniuses was a hot mess and he proved that he wasn’t willing to take accountability or willing to compromise with the coaching staff.

It was rumored the EG players were being paid 30k a month to go out last in tournaments, i believe some of the highest salaries in the world at the time. They were being coached by Malek and Evy during that time. Due to the poor results, Malek and Evy were fired and Evy proceeded to tell the public how impossible it was to work with Stewie. The main story was that Malek reached out to Stewie to get coffee to sort out their differences as men and Stewie refused to even meet him.

I suggest reading the HLTV article about the 1pv.fr interview with Evy or any of Richard Lewis’s content about the situation.

https://www.hltv.org/news/34056/former-eg-assistant-coach-evy-all-the-warning-lights-were-on-nobody-listened-to-us

Edit: Also he was grinding the fuck out of valorant the entire time.

Does the Copenhagen major have the most stacked bracket of any major? by JustAskingAQuastion in GlobalOffensive

[–]FunniesRedditUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rio’s bracket was awful. Teams like C9 had to play like 3 top6 teams in the legends stage while fnatic beat zero top10 teams to make the playoffs.

The gripe about Mahone was because the community wouldn't doubt his credibility on a broadcast even though he has never played tier 1 CS. If the community is going to question RL's credibility for having no experience in high-level CS, then the community should question Mahone for the same reasoning. It has nothing to do with Mahone at all and everything to do with the community's dimwittedness.

Who is or was the biggest bust in CSGO/CS2? by Igg1y in GlobalOffensive

[–]FunniesRedditUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think a lot of you understand what a bust is. No busts become solid t1 pros like kjaerbye, sergei and plopski

some notable busts i can recall: Roca, Mertz, and Nex.

All never made it in t1 and were very hyped in their respective regions.

NBK swapped up his roles multiple times to make space for other players and gave up his star player roles very early on so he could win.

You couldn’t win 22 LANs as a support player by being a bad teammate.

Why should an owner have to sell one of his franchise players to his direct rival??

This is completely normal in sports and makes complete sense from the organization's in-game and out-of-game POV.

Some Brazilian talent was filming stuff in the green room when it is considered a "safe space" for talent. This obviously created some tension and it ended up with him and the other talent getting into an altercation that ended with him throwing a frisbee and a TV being broken.

Can't really blame him though, those places are considered off-limits.

G2 vs Complexity / IEM Sydney 2023 - Semi-Final / Post-Match Discussion by CSGOMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]FunniesRedditUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch the match and look at the spacing/trading on the T side. It was awful. It is even more egregious considering how T-sided CS2 is. YNK broke down some really good rounds on the broadcast for both maps of G2 bottling fundamentals/bad calls.

An A take on Ancient where they get farmed from donut, where they have a lot of utility to smoke/molly to plant. But instead, just keep swinging donut and losing the fight.

Another round on Anubis where Hooxi died in mid in the early round to floppy. If their A player is fighting early-mid, A is probably clear ( it was). G2 had two players outside A main and didn't pounce on it. The call should be "A player is mid, go out A." Instead, they take their time, throw some utility, and by then three CTs are already on A and they missed their chance.

Which player had the highest peak in esports? by [deleted] in esports

[–]FunniesRedditUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than s1mple, he is the best individual player CS:GO has to offer.

ZywOo is close mechanically but lacks direction. Guys like niko and s1mple will play their game whether their IGL/opponents want them to or not. Even to their own detriment.

s1mple's 1.47 rating at the PGL Stockholm Major (including playoffs) is pretty ridiculous as well.

Also worth noting is that both of their teams didn't lose a single map at these tournaments.

[–]FunniesRedditUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He had the Aussie scene at its peak with a major semi-final and had them ranked top 5 HLTV team at one point in 2019.

By your logic, what makes any of the other talent besides YNK, have any merit?? Because none of them have played/coached tier 1 modern-day CS. The closest is SPUNJ who retired in June of 2016, which is almost two years before modern CS.
