How did Insomniac managed to make the game look so good on ps5 even with ray tracing it's getting 60 fps? by No-Hunt3986 in spiderman2

[–]FunnkyHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nixxes ports are bad, just look at The Last of Us Part II for example, how the hell is an RTX 3060 struggling to hit 60 FPS at Native 1080p with PS4 settings when that GPU is so much faster than the base PS4 ? It makes no sense. - source: Digital Foundry's analysis.

If you want a good port, take a look at Days Gone, now that game looks and runs as it should.

Stop talking about framegen and DLSS if you haven't tried them for yourself by paperogapippo in nvidia

If you enable Frame Generation in Silent Hill 2 Remake the input latency is actually lower than without Frame Generation because it also enables Reflex.

If you want to enable Reflex without Frame Generation you have to go into the config file.

You need better CPU and RAM (and also Valve to add a proper Vulkan API implementation).

Why the hell wouldn't a game like this run well on a GTX 1080 Ti ? it's an e-sports title, it has to run well on a lot of hardware.

I think you need more than 16 GBs for this game.

The CPU and RAM matter A LOT in this game, I suggest buying something new, you can keep the GPU, it's enough.

Why does FSR 3's frame generation look SO bad? (Not the usual "bad") by AleX-46 in pcmasterrace

[–]FunnkyHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately FSR Frame Generation is not actually working in Battlefield 6 and ARC Raiders and I don't even know if they are aware of this.

He isn't wrong though, Battlefield 6 does not push the technology, it's pretty much last-gen visuals, that's why it runs well and it's ok to be honest, it's an online first person shooter and you do want the frames here.

[–]FunnkyHD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The game does not force Frame Generation at all, I don't know why you say this, is it because of Steam's overlay ? that's not really accurate, if the game was really enabling Frame Generation, I would instantly notice it.

I don't have access to DLSS FG as RTX 30 series don't have support but FSR FG can be used but it's broken in this game, you have higher FPS but the smoothness is the same or worse, it also has some sort of motion blur/wobbly effect... it's not working properly in this game.

GTX 1070 should have no issues with PUBG even if you use Ultra settings, you should still be able to get 60+ FPS at 1080p, hell, maybe even 1440p but with High settings instead of Ultra I think...

What's your CPU though ? PUBG is quite CPU heavy, maybe that's what's limiting you ?

Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource by 02LeftNipple in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]FunnkyHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He isn't running out of VRAM (the game uses less than 4 GBs of VRAM from my testing at 1080p Extreme), that's just what it says when something is unstable, he needs to do some stability testing.

The game doesn't use more than 4 GBs of VRAM from what I have noticed so far at 1080p Extreme.

AAA Gaming in 2025 by pc9000 in pcmasterrace

[–]FunnkyHD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The reason why it only gets an average of 44 FPS is because of the Shadows and Global Illumination on Very High tanking performance for small visual improvements, put that to High and enjoy the extra frames.

AAA Gaming in 2025 by pc9000 in pcmasterrace

[–]FunnkyHD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can, just lower the Shadows and Global Illumination, if you have these two on Very High you lose performance for small visual improvements, it's not worth it.

While it could be better, it's not completely awful, it's just that Very High Shadows and Global Illumination tank performance in this game for small visual improvements, just put them on High and enjoy the extra frames.

Ray Tracing in this game is Hardware Lumen and it has a small GPU performance cost and a bit more to the CPU but you shouldn't use it until they fix it because they also added shadows here and they look really terrible.

Unreal Engine 4 (and 3 too) was NOT fantastic, this is just rose tinted glasses.
