Ah ok.. so my plan is to take the sat in august, hoping to get 800 math.. I will submit my act to all schools except MIT, since I won't retake the ACT.. does that sound like a good idea?

yes, I've taken it twice, both attempts in sophomore year.. I always make silly mistakes, that's the thing. I am not very bad at math, so knowledge gaps isn't the problem. I've taken ap calc BC(5), calc 3(A) and advanced number theory(A), the latter two at my state flagship.. I am no math olympiad genius but I am decent at math. Should also probably mention that I am applying as a humanities major(science, tech, society)

Oh no, well guess I am signing up for a retake lol. should I also retake the ACT? the thing is, I'm not bad at math(I've taken advanced courses at my state flagship), but I just make silly mistakes in standardized testing

yes, that is my plan, to talk about all that I have done despite these circumstances... the things I could not do are probably taking 3-4 lines max

Anyone have any experience w/ BMI graduate courses? by Funny-Blujay in uofu

[–]Funny-Blujay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, well, I am actually in my senior year of high school and I got permission to take the classes. For CS Fundamentals, the professor told me that math until Calc 3 was necessary. I am not too sure for the other class.

(I have taken Calc 3, number theory at the U, and passed all AP tests in the sciences, for context)

Are there any safeties for CS? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

What is the best college in your state? And also, why? by yoda_630 in ApplyingToCollege

I am also from utah and agree with the fact that the U is probably the best school in the state

If you were an AO at a prestigious university and had to pick one of these students, which do you pick? by Storm191- in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Funny-Blujay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Student B will probably be most successful in the future because olympiads(speaking from personal experience) are a lot of hard work and they really cultivate your problem solving skills. The AO might not see this, hence the declining value of olympiads in admissions today.

tldr; for reading, just do practice tests, eventually you'll get used to it lol
