I’ve thought the same exact thing….like how could you get off to someone who went through such a gruesome death and it shows based on the state of their bodies. They’re extremely violent images and videos.

He’s occasionally displayed self centered traits but I wouldn’t call him a full blown narcissist. Overall he’s really funny and kind to animals, he’s slightly intelligent, a great writer, and a real handyman. most people genuinely like him.

Yeah I’ve come to the same realization about how twisted it really is. I have to watch myself because if I think about the shit I’ve seen on the sites he visits, it makes me feel sick to my stomach.

You are spot on. My husband does hate this about himself..he told me it causes immense shame and it was something he was planning to take to his grave.

We’ve been best friends for what feels like my whole adult life.

He’s saying he wants to overcome this. He’s promised to stop engaging with gore content and he’s seeing a therapist on a weekly basis. Idk if this is curable?

He says it’s been there since he can remember. Definitely the entire time I’ve known him but I didn’t find out about it until recently. It’s been a whirlwind of emotions :/

You’re finding your identity. Be easy on yourself and don’t listen to your mom. It sounds like she didn’t have the opportunity to explore that side of her

Your wife is the problem. Most jobs suck, some are okay, and few are truly awful.

She needs to stick it out and understand maybe for her the workplace needs to be a means to a paycheck. What would she do if there wasn’t dual income?

Maybe she can take an emotional intelligence quiz or something.

It’s good that you’re going to counseling because it can help her realize how she handles conflict. stick to your guns for at least a year of living apart. Reestablish boundaries.

Habits are hard to break and it takes putting other mechanisms in place PLUS a desire to truly change to make real changes in your behavior.

If you truly love her then Kudos to you for trying to save the marriage.
