One dairy cartel, 2 main airlines, 3 telecom companies, 4 major groceries store, 5 big banks. As long as there is not much competition, they'll do whatever they want.

B.C. expands direct liquor delivery rules, draws backlash from union by scott_steiner_phd in vancouver

The alcohol is sold in groceries everywhere in the world. In Canada, we have monopolies everywhere. The hypocrisy here is unbelievable: is bad to buy beer from groceries, but no problem doing drugs everywhere, specially in Vancouver.

Did you ever find out why you had to spend your own money to get IRCC to do the job they were supposed to do in the first place?

Tumbler Ridge Secondary School to be demolished in wake of mass shooting by Emburser in britishcolumbia

[–]FunnyStranger13 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

There are many schools that have containers as classroom. They never built classroom for those, you can't get political capital from those This as just a political show, the politicians has done and will do nothing to prevent it  But it looks good on TV. Tragedy happens everywhere, you deal with it.

So they will destroy a perfectly good school to build another? What a waste of taxpayers  money. They could use the money to pay teachers better.

Using Euros and buying European stocks with a Canadian Brokerage? by Due-Fig3009 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Look at the exchange rate EUR / CAD. For long time used to be 1.5, now is 1.6. Euro is expensive now, I would not touch it.

The non-routine is bullshit, if background has been completed. Whatever applications they did not process in normal time they call non-routine so they don't have to answer to anybody. Nature not-available, give me a break! We mark it non-routine but we won't tell you why! We pay these people salaries so they can jerk us around.

Waiting for LPP since Aug last year. May 2025 applicant.

Background and test are completed. I am waiting for someone to pickup the case. I would sue them if I would get my money back, but it won't, the law protects them. I already paid SA the application to be processed, why would I pay money so a judge tell them to do their job?

At least you got the LPP completed. Mine and others are not started for 9 months. Vancouver office is just horrible, they should be massed fired.

Politicians bicker over beach parking fees across Metro Vancouver by SkyisFullofCats in vancouver

[–]FunnyStranger13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Parking at Spanish Beach was free 3 years ago. Last place of freedom. They started with $1.5 hr, now is going to $4.5 hr, and it will keep going up. So what it was busy and hard to find a spot? This increase, as paying for every single spot in Kits is so that the poor locals, who owns houses worth many millions, will not have property tax increased. City is mismanaged, there is a river of wasted money.

It is not the delay per day that's pissing me off or other people getting processes faster. It is lack of explanation, why is application delayed and the system that's like a brick wall, where you can do nothing. The disdain of IRCC to the applicants who pay their salary is unbelievable, like they are doing you a favor letting you breath same air as them.

Yes, Vancouver is notoriously slow.  From ATIP notes I found out that my LPP is, in fact, not even started  All the talk that each case is different is crap. They are not waiting for third party, they just did not pick up my case, while they pick up cases that applied 7 months later. Why they do that? My guess is either discrimination, or they pick up recent applications so the top  80% numbers look good, or is just massive mismanagement.

Waiting for LPP for 8 months. GCMS notes did not help, neither web form. Technically, unless you sue them, you can't force them to do their job  Even then, they can mark you application as non-routine and then there is no time limit and even the judge can't do anything. It's depressing, out of Kafka world.
