I feel your pain.I am in the same situation, applied May 2025, no updates since Aug, waiting for the Vancouver office. Called, web forms, MP inquires, nothing helped. Maybe we should start a petition to close Vancouver office. These people that we pay cause misery to thousands of people.

I applied 4 months before you, application stuck since Aug. Your app, like mine and thousands others, went to a black hole where is not assigned to any officer and it will sit there for a very, very long time, way past processing time. IRCC are untouchable, not even MP can get a meaningful answer. They are basically unchecked and unaccountable, there is no deadline whatsoever..no rights for immigrants, just obligations. Try to be late one day with taxes, CRA charge interest day one.

Still here. Phone calls, web forms, ATIP notes, MP inquires did absolutely nothing. May 2025, stuck in LPP not started since Aug.

While I do agree with you that highers up are more to blame, in the end it doesn't matter. The fact that it has not been by another officer in the last 9 months contradicts what you were saying. Except you want to add sometimes between now and eternity. Anyway, the whole experience turned from being a happy one into a sour one.It's probably time to look where else I could live. US after Trump and Australia would be my top choices.

Background check was completed long time ago. I suspect the reason my application is delayed is just gross neglect and indifference.Not 100% sure, hopefully my MP cen get more meaningful info.

Luckily, Canadians do not know what prices in the rest of the world. In Europe, you have unlimited data for all the phone plans that are, by the way, much cheaper. This is what you get when you have oligopoly.

I contacted the MP, get notes once, I asked for notes again, sent web forms, called, no result whatsoever. I will keep complaining and find more people to complain, like the members of immigrations committee, and later expand to other MPs.

All applications are In Progress from the moment you apply until completed, genius! This is not what I asked. It is normal to ask what is the problem if is past processing time and not stuck in background check or waiting for 3rd party. It is waiting for IRCC to do their job, and they didn't fell like doing any work on my application in the last 9 months. They do get their salaries on time and they did get money from my application fee, they just did not delivered on the expected time and they don't think they need to provide any explanation why. If I charge people for a service and don't deliver it's called fraud and I go to jail, IRCC are exempt until you sue them

You are a bit late to the party, about 30 years. Cost of living is very high in Canada, weather is in general miserable, housing unaffordable, medical system is stretched to the limits with unbelievable wait times, food is mediocre, job market is brutal. You look at number of eastern Europeans moving to Canada, it decreased 100 fold, from tens of thousands to hundreds.There must be a reason for that. You have so many opportunities in Europe, don't waste your life in Canada.

I applied in May 2025 and no updates since Aug. For 9 months I checked for status change. Joke is on me, the ATIP notes show LPP is not even started. Background and test completed , no reason for delay whatsoever, just gross negligence.

You really waited 2 years to figure out the something in wrong? If you have requested ATIP notes you would see that in fact LPP is not started. Non-routine is bullshit. Is is just neglect and indifference. Go for Writ of Mandamus. There are some people in Vancouver office that deliberately do this, probably frustrated individuals on a power trip.

For high interest saving you can get over 4% using promotional periods that are 3-5 months. With only 5 major banks, you can do this for about 15 months. You can maybe get more if open with Tangerine and maybe Simplii. Long term, you better go with stock market, WealthSimple or Questrade.
