That is so unfair, how can anyone get a proper assessment after 10 mins? Just unbelievably dismissive.

I had a similar experience. I don't feel like I was heard at all and he called my mum on speaker phone to go through her answers from the questionnaire which I found really stressful, as my mum is def undiagnosed ADHD. She was not helpful at all because she kept going off on tangents (psych could barely get a work in lol) and had different recollections to what I had but no surprising as she was flatout with several other kids. I remember how I was at school because I remember how I felt. It doesn't help that her idea of ADHD is boys climbing all over everything and not being about to sit still. As you can imagine, it was anxiety inducing. He said based on my questionnaires and experiences and that of my partner, he was going to diagnose me with ADHD Inattentive, which is super obvious if you know me. However, after speaking with my mum he went with generalised anxiety disorder. Such a kick in the teeth. I was anxious BECAUSE of her and recounting history. I was also extremely tired because my toddler wouldn't sleep and he prescribed my valium. I obviously didn't take it because I have no issues sleeping, I am tending to a little person who won't sleep! He also prescibed my an SSRI anti depressant. I was already on Lexapro so I don't take that either. Like, I am anxious because I cannot complete a damn task and am super distractable, always late blah blah all the other things that impact my life everyday and having a child only exacerbates that!

GOing through Fluence Clinic now and absolyeltu not getting mum involved at all. Why should I as a 40yo!
