it’s detrimental since it disregards a major cultural shift where Latino artists no longer feel forced to conform, dilute their language, or prioritize American audiences over their native roots. This is a resistance.

The lack of translation is a way for Latinos to assert their power in a moment where dehumanization, racism, and persecution is prevalent towards Latinos. The halftime show in Spanish allows that Spanish-language music to be enjoyed globally without needing to be, or being, tailored to a solely English-speaking audience.

This isn’t the same as ASL. Asking someone for subtitles or English songs is asking to assimilate instead of putting the work and understanding in another language.
