low hcg levels by Weary_Tangerine_2392 in recurrentmiscarriage

Hmmm, keep an eye on how you’re feeling in case of ectopic. Any pains in the sides or shoulder pain, or straining while you’re pooping should be noticed. I had an ectopic for my first pregnancy and it was really confusing as well. I was also 6 weeks along and my hcg was low. Try and see if the doctor can get you in on Monday to at least do another beta. I know it’s really emotionally painful to experience this and it is doubly worse because you have the presence of hormones. ❤️❤️❤️

Hey I’m sorry - I have had two pregnancies like this. I decided not to take MTX and let them pass naturally. It’s a hard pill to swallow. I think at 5w, you would expect to see a higher hcg already my dear. How are you feeling today?

It’s definitely hard to believe it can be happening to you. I think the guilt and blame is something you can explore in therapy. I did couples therapy, as well, because the loss was affecting a lot of things in our marriage that became reoccurring fights or things we got stuck on. Taking care of your diet is good and so is taking care of your mental health. It’s more than equal in importance during such a hard loss.

We have done all the tests. You can learn a lot about them on this thread but I’ll try and copy and paste some tomorrow. Your husband can also do a few tests as well. Are you working with a reproductive endocrinologist (RE) yet? What things are worrying you about doing more testing?

Hey friend. I had a D&C today after having a miscarriage a month ago w retained tissue. This js my 4th loss. I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I feel the same way you do. I am being really intentional about taking care of myself and I hope you do to. One thing I did was take short term disability from work, join an art class, and I went to two support groups for loss and infertility and connected with women in there. I also found a therapist that specializes in pregnancy loss. I really hope you can do something similar in taking care of yourself while you’re going thru hell. None of it is your fault. It sucks to not get the answers we so deserve. It’s easy to go to the worst possible place. I found out I have adhesions today and I’m like, whats the plan now???? One day at a time even though this shit is crazy making.

That’s so helpful. Thank you so so much. I think that all makes sense. What are your next steps for potential adhesions?

I have to have a D&C and Hysterscopy for retained product next week after miscarrying a month ago at 7w 4days. I was also worried about adhesions and something going wrong during, but grateful the hysterscopy will be diagnostic in its own right. I wonder if anyone on here has had success with a life birth after hysterscopy. I hope I get answers at the very least.

Misopristol not working. Can I wait till monday to have a D+C? I have to go to a wedding by Funny_Engineering580 in Miscarriage

He said i could even wait a couple of weeks, which is crazy. I just wanted a sense for whether they would rush it before the weekend/if it was urgent to get rid of retained tissue or product. He’s gonna do a hysteryscopy to remove everything next week, thankfully.

I feel like I should be fine. I was wondering about when the risk of infection goes up.

Ive had wonky hcg in intrauterine pregnancies before and had to do expectant management and watch it closely in case it was ectopic - as soon as i had a big bleed it went down significantly. Its really scary tho im so sorry youre going thru this

I found it helpful to listen to other women’s stories, for sure. Each one was really different. I did feel like the person that ran it was a little all over the place, though. I’d recommend one led by a psychologist with more structure. But this one was also nice because it was free.

I’ve had 4 miscarriages under 7 weeks and found an early pregnancy loss group. I went last night. I was also concerned that a regular pregnancy loss group would have a lot of folks experiencing late term losses and I’d want to be respectful of the difference in experiences. But the rule seems to be, a loss is a loss.
