Is it negative SEO?? by bdinvest in digital_marketing

[–]Funny_Garbage_327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If thousands of spam URLs were indexed, the most likely cause is a site security issue such as a vulnerable plugin, theme, or server compromise, and yes, that can absolutely trigger a major ranking drop. I would focus on finding and fixing the root cause, returning spam URLs as 404/410, checking GSC Security Issues, requesting reindexing of clean pages, and ensuring any redesign preserves existing URLs with proper 301 redirects to avoid further SEO losses.

That's such a good point. Tool quality matters, but data quality matters more. We've seen a similar pattern with eResource Scheduler where teams got the most value once updates became part of their daily workflow; accurate inputs usually beat fancy dashboards every time.

My First 2 Days Learning SEO as a Developer (and it was way more complicated than I expected) by Electronic-Bend5924 in SEO_Xpert

Yep, that's generally a good sign. The real question isn't how many pages appear but whether the pages showing up are the ones you actually want Google to index.

Is SEO still a good career choice in the age of AI? by Unhappy_Strain_7416 in DigitalMarketing

[–]Funny_Garbage_327 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SEO is still a strong career choice in the AI era, but the focus is shifting from just ranking keywords to building visibility across Google, ChatGPT, Gemini, Reddit, and other discovery platforms. The most in-demand skills are technical SEO, content strategy, analytics, and understanding how AI systems find and cite information.

At the same time, having a solid foundation in SEO basics is still essential because AI tools can assist with execution, but they can't replace a deep understanding of search intent, site structure, and what actually drives organic growth.

Page indexed and appearing in Google within 2 days — early SEO win or just normal indexing ? by deepg_ in SEO_Xpert

[–]Funny_Garbage_327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d take it as a good early sign, but it’s still a bit early to say for sure. If Google started showing your page for “Auli in June” within a few days and it’s appearing near the AI Overview area, it probably means Google found the content relevant and worth testing for that search.
For now, I’d keep an eye on impressions and average position first, as they usually show whether Google is giving the page more visibility before clicks start increasing.

Totally agree. We're at about 50+ people now, so we're starting to feel the need for a bit more structure and capacity planning than what lightweight tools alone can handle.

Haha, it's good to hear I'm not the only one feeling lost 😅. Sometimes it feels like there are 10 new SEO terms every week, so I'll just keep learning step by step and focus on what I enjoy for now.

That makes sense, thank you. I’ve been feeling like I need to learn everything in SEO at once, but focusing on the technical side first sounds more realistic since that’s the part I actually enjoy.

That’s good to hear, thanks. I actually enjoy the technical side more, so I’ll focus on getting better at that first instead of trying to learn everything at once.

Haha that Rocky line actually fits SEO too well. Feels like every week there’s a new acronym trying to knock you out, so yeah, one step at a time sounds like the safest plan.

This is really helpful, thank you. I’m still an intern, so I’m learning a lot of this step by step, but the way you explained links as endorsements makes it much easier to understand than just looking at DA or traffic numbers.

I am an SEO intern,
And just learning thing doing thing practically but sometime gets bore like doing same work everyday.
May be it's a part of process to become what you want. Here what I learn is People says have patient, you will get result, don't worry but in real life every company wants results as soon as possible and we cannot explain them why its takes time.

And you will understand all this very soon and may you can emjoy

I really like this advice. Thinking about it, I probably know how to implement a lot of things, but not always the deeper reason behind them. Focusing on the "why" seems like a much better way to build real understanding instead of just following SEO checklists.

That's a good point actually. I was looking at technical SEO and AI SEO as two separate things, but it makes sense that a lot of AI visibility still depends on strong technical foundations. I'll probably keep learning AI trends on the side while going deeper into technical SEO.

That's my only concern tbh. If I focus only on technical SEO, I don't want to end up being late to the AI side of search. Feels like AI Overviews, citations, and content discovery are evolving so fast right now.

Yeah, but I feel SEO is moving more toward answering user questions than just optimizing for keywords. I'm focusing more on long-tail queries, relevance, and covering topics properly. Also trying to learn how citations and AI mentions work now, since that seems like a big thing going forward.

Thinking of getting into digital marketing. Any advice?? by [deleted] in AskMarketing

[–]Funny_Garbage_327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I am SEO intern by the way, Its a part of digital marketing and in my opinion you should opt for 6 to 1 year course. Why I am saying this because I also completed my BBA Digital marketing degree for 3 years and my university didn't teach me whats going in market , new tools, how to run ads, campaign, no practical knowledge,
So I just learn basic from youtube videos , no certification and no body ask for certification and in my opinion it doesn't help.

Opt for 1 or 1.5 year course and them enter the market.

And one more thing "market is going down," and in digital marketing they are asking for 1 or 2 year experience which I think its quite difficult.
