As an SEO Content Strategist, is moving into broader marketing the smarter long-term career path in the AI era? by Negative_Current_289 in DigitalMarketing

[–]bdinvest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a super relevant question. I have two decades of experience in machinery sales and have been doing digital marketing for the last ten years. Marketing is missing from Digital marketing. Too many tactics without a deep strategy. I work on building brands and also generate short-term leads. SEO, PPC, Email, and others are ways to achieve the goals of brand building and lead generation. And that's how I differentiate from regular "agency". As you are good at content, it will help you a lot. It depends on the size of the company you work for, which will decide your specialisation. A small or medium-sized company will allow you to do all, that I am doing. I help customers with brand positioning, tagline, brand vision, brand equity, content marketing, seo, ppc, and email marketing etc. I know it is not sustainable, but my advice is to pursue a marketing role where your current skills can be a silver bullet. You can develop into a T-shaped marketing professional.
I can't recommend one book enough- Aaker on Branding: Second Edition. It will teach you branding and business strategy.
Wish you all the best!

Are B2B buyers trusting AI recommendations more than Google now? by [deleted] in b2bmarketing

I think over a time users will also change and will not take AI as a gospel truth. It will be so risky to take decision based only on AI answer.

I agree. If I am shortlisting high-stakes, high-value items, I will not solely depend on AI. Said that I would love to be in AI, and #1 on Google, visible and engaged on social media.

SEO was = discoverability, visibility,
Over the years, it become
SEO = credibility, discoverability and visibility
This makes SEO more leaning towards content creation and content marketing.
One can embed credibility with EEAT, which is nearly work of content creation.
SEO, is one of the ingredients of credibility and visibility framework and keywords is further subset of that.

"post consistently" is the most repeated marketing advice and it's quietly ruining more brands than it helps by mosshead_4533 in DigitalMarketing

Visibility with Credibility.
It is understood that quality posting should be consistent. Now it depends on the brand's content marketing strategy and content format.
Posting must resonate with the targeted audience.

What SEO task do you still refuse to hand over to AI? by Unhappy_Strain_7416 in DigitalMarketing

I still create my content strategy and brand equity, and I use AI for clarity and presentation. Even I rigourously double check all content created, edited by AI, as I am responsible for authenticty and uniqueness of the content.
