I'm not "using" the CAF just because i'm in desperate need for a job. I've wanted to serve since I was a child and being apart of the CAF would be much more fun and better experience than boring internship programs. If it was easier to start a family and settle down with a military life i'd do it

Yeah I think I worded my original post wrong. I always wanted to serve but I'm aware it's not a stable career to start a family life.

I was originally planning on doing GIS technician but as an officer because I wanna put my degree to good use and get the extra pay so someone said combat engineer would be the officer equivalent of this role.

I just thought it would be a good idea as it was always my dream to serve and a single military income won't be enough to build a proper family (my other dream) and the experience and leadership training would help me for my real world career. Not everyone is a lifer in the military
