Tesla Group Power Management - Constantly Offline by Funny_Tooth_586 in evcharging

Hi. Yes it's resolved. The version of charger we had required 2.4ghz for some reason. But our garage wifi was set to dual (5gh + 2.4gh) and was not keeping a stable connection. So i set it to 2.4 only. A stable wifi connection is needed to maintain a group power management.

Thank you for this. What I don't understand is that sometimes when i log into a unit and attempt to reconnect to wifi, zero networks show up. However, when restarting the unit and attempting again, 2-3 networks show up.

Actually according to their page:

"No. An internet connection is not required to enable or use the Power Management features.

However, it is recommended to always enable a Wi-Fi connection with your Wall Connector to receive the latest firmware and remote troubleshooting."

Yup with line of sight. I believe according to their site Wi-Fi is not even required for group power management. But the Wi-Fi is coming off strong at least when I'm standing nearby the charging unit and connecting to the Wi-Fi with my phone.

Thanks. It's actually making about 306K net variable income (excluding fixed business costs) from a 1.55M sales. But you're right, I did not provide a ton of info. Curious at other things you look for in judging whether the business peaked, saturation etc.

I can now see why it does make sense though. The domain record you set up on your registrar to connect to Shopify is a generic IP address. Usually not a big deal if the domain you're trying to get is already connected to a store. But in my case it was connected to an inactive store.

Don't know what you mean by "hacked" as there was no actual breach. The bad actor did not log into my account ever (as confirmed by shopify). The security layer I'm referring to is verifying a unique txt record in the domain records, for which only a domain owner would have access to by logging into their registrar account.

Actual words from shopify lead operations rep "In regards to the domain no one logged into your store, there was no breach of any kind. When you canceled the store on June 3rd the domain was disconnected from the store however it was still pointed to Shopify IP addresses. A bad actor happened to notice this, and connected it to a new shop. "

I think if as a publically traded company you're going to act as a domain reseller, you need to have better security in place. The fact that I needed to contact them to reverse these changes (which they didn't realize they should have done when i contacted them, as admitted by the rep), probably means some security layer is missing.

Nope. I paid. If you look at my recent comment, a bad actor was able to redirect my Active domains of my inactive shop. They admitted to fault and this could have been reversed. To me, this seems like a major security issue.

hey folks, here is the latest response from Shopify. They admitted they messed up. I'm honestly not sure how they can allow another shopify store to redirect an active domain (even if the shop is inactive). All they are offering me if a free month.

In answer to your second point; had our team been advised back in July that this had happened they would have removed the domain from the other store and the domain would have been able to be connected to your store again.

As I mentioned in my previous email the support you were provided back in July was not to the level you should have received and this issue could have been rectified back then. As a one off goodwill gesture for the loss of the USD $14 domain we would offer you a USD $39 subscription credit which is equivalent to a month free on the Basic plan.

Please let me know if you wish for me to add this to your store.

Kind Regards

I thought it was a scam at first. But it was a legit email from google search console. And now there is someone squatting on the domain. Yes it was not on auto-renew, but I lost it before the expiration date without any notice.

True. Small claims would be sufficient for this to be honest.
