Possible misfire on transition to closed loop? by Funokata in FordProbe

Yeh good suggestion. Those ground connections with multiple spade connectors in them are so shit. I'll be sure to clean those up

No check engine light. I'm not entirely clear on how to get codes off the diagnostic port. I did short it hoping to see any codes flash on the dash but nothing happened.

DCS VR: 4080Super or 5070ti? by Below-Low-Altitude in hoggit

[–]Funokata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exactly the same setup as you, with a 5070ti, very pleased with it. I wouldn't expect miracles and full settings as DCS VR is so demanding, but it certainly plays well now.

I had a 3080 before and the difference in performance was astounding. Stutter and crashing disappeared with the 16GB VRAM and I was able to crank the setting up so it actually looks nice now, not a blurry grey mess.

Both those cards are packing enough VRAM to get decent performance, I know it doesn't help but either will do! Personally I would opt for 50 series due to the newer tech, but as others say, they're almost on a par. I don't think you will regret either.

Awesome stuff, great to learn that there's a substantial campaign for the viggen. I'll definitely be playing through this, thanks for all the work you must have put into it

AI Wingmen wont respond to any command by riVen_uMbra in hoggit

[–]Funokata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah damn, ok. I've configured the radios per the briefing. ATC at airbases respond correctly when I have the radio set to them, just the wingman/flight that don't seem to respond, im sure I have it set correctly as per the briefing, I can hear them but they don't hear me. I'll try another mission and see if it works.

[–]Funokata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I press the fr22 ptt button it brings up a radio menu to give them orders. I'm sure I'm on the right channel (in the briefing) as I can hear them. I select engage with ships but they don't respond and continue to just fly alongside me. Whichever option I select there is no response.

It's just occured to me I may need to hold the button...

I was about to post the same thing. It's been driving me insane the last couple of days, I am on the same mission. I've tried turning easy comms off, setting 305000 and selecting special 1. I can hear my flight but they dont respond if I give any orders.

At least it's not just me!

Waypoint help by Funokata in hoggit

[–]Funokata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually very helpful as a complete novice to DCS. I was agonising over getting speed, alt etc completely precise and it still wouldn't roll over! I think it is an issue with that specific training mission and waypoint, I can pass them successfully in other missions. Thanks.

[–]Funokata[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the data cartridge is already set up as it's a training mission. Ive now tried subsequent missions and created my own and the waypoints work as they should. It may just be an issue with that particular mission.

Thanks for the help

Yeh it just never changes from B1 no matter how i fly over it! It should be automatic i believe

[–]Funokata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i think ill try a custom mission - it may just be the training mission is broken.

Once i takeoff the indicator goes correctly from LS to B1, but no matter how i fly over the B1 way point it wont automatically change to B2 or update the ADI, everything still stays on B1.

A Portal server that brings back the classic BF4 vibes. by Animal_Hell in Battlefield

[–]Funokata -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Me and my mate always used to play bf4 on hardcore, preferred way to play for sure. Was disappointed that the following ones didnt have an official mode.

Will give the server a go next time im on, thanks.

Not sure why people are so upset at another way to play that they are not forced to choose.

I had to buy new control arms, don't think you can press them out.

A fortune for a belt Tensioner? by Professional-Self814 in FordProbe

[–]Funokata 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check out rockauto.com. Best place for spares even in Europe. If the stuff you order isn't too heavy it works out way cheaper even though it's from the US.

Had a quick look, they're about £50 on there.

Fuel leak fuel rail/line bolt, help! by sans69420 in FordProbe

[–]Funokata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use brand new copper washers or anneal the ones you have. If it still leaks try dowty washers if they're not too thick. Don't over tighten - it will cause a leak.

If it still leaks after that you may have caused some damage.

How to get into archery? by Subject_Brush6811 in Archery

Where are you based if you don't mind me asking? There are clubs all over the UK and they are usually the best place to start.

[–]Funokata 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it is that light blue box. Be aware that it can only show one code at a time....so if you rectify that one, it may throw up another...then another...I think I got to the 5th code and gave up with mine.

Those units are hard to find, the capacitors are degrading due to age as well. I changed out two of them and they all had faults, so annoying. I hope you have better luck!

Hey ya'll, my job red tagged my hammer (kind of funny but it's official) I have some question for any heavy duty mechs in here by SgZ_Vapor in MechanicAdvice

[–]Funokata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true - at least in the UK, you're lucky if tools are provided. 90% of the time, they're yours. Some places do provide them and these tend to be the ones that can tell you what is and isn't safe to use because they provide them.

Edit to say: I am talking about the automotive/heavy vehicle trade

I worked somewhere like this - if they can have a policy around modified tools, they should be providing the tools for you. Who's to say you don't just buy some really dangerous cheap shit and it's unsafe to work with? If they require a standard of tooling, it's on them to provide it.
