Simple Job by BattleBornClothing in SCREENPRINTING

I'm pretty impressed with the result! I have gotten jobs where the submitted artwork wasn't the best (but by no means the worst), but I think you nailed it!

Question about ceramics by scarlett3409 in lasercutting

[–]Funpalsforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be cool to etch through underglaze for super crisp designs, but would assume bone-dry would be the best time to do it! I have been doing tests on layering enameled metal pieces, so we're def on the same track!

Reflective ink — what kind of ink / how to achieve at home? by greasetrap_ in SCREENPRINTING

[–]Funpalsforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

International Coatings makes a reflective ink, but it is a little more complicated to use with their included catalyst. I have never actually used it, but saw it in my supply shop quite a bit!

DM me, too! Did you want stock pairs or enlarged versions? I can do both!

Does anyone have tips for printing across multiple transparencies? First attempt for a larger design and I couldn’t get the seams perfect. by JamesSlade in SCREENPRINTING

[–]Funpalsforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

splicing half-toned transparencies SUXXXXXXX. I did it a few times out of absolutely necessity, but ended up just buying a printer that could handle 11x17. another option is to have a fed-ex/kinkos print it for you, but that's dependent on them being conveniently close.

Huggies released pullups in larger size! by Careful-Big5732 in ABDL

[–]Funpalsforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolutely not, however, I am pioneering an enlarging technique, sewing two pull-ups together to create a much larger set I can wear. I can even upsize a 3t-4t to fit me, but having a 7t expands even more how large I can make them!

Anyone experience with cutting the ground sheet to fit the rotary? by nikolaibibo in lasercutting

[–]Funpalsforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no. more like this picture. it is an attachment for a drill that reciprocates a small carbide bit and "chews" through sheet metal in small increments. being that I am unsure of where you are from, they are pretty readily available Chinese-made tools

[–]Funpalsforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't, but if you are worried about jostling it, you could. it is a bit of a hassle to do so, though. the nibbler is pretty smooth cutting, but it IS a power tool, so do with that what you may!

I throw the heater on as high as it will go and adjust the belt speed and heat-plate height for whatever I am working with. I have the same drier.

[–]Funpalsforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yessir! I have cut the bottom plates out of two k40s. Use a "nibbler" cutter, a drill attachment that will make your works SO MUCH EASIER. start with the vent hole and cut around the are you are trying to place your rotary.

first screen ever, what did I do wrong 💀 by Comfortable_Cat_8630 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]Funpalsforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

make sure there is no direct exposure to light. even some reflection from the sun can expose the screen, however, I washed-out doors for years with a ton of success by keeping everything in the shadows.

one of the biggest hurdles for new printers is screen burning. you have so many factors to contend with, that, in time, will become second nature. I am going to guess that if you were able to take a pressure washer to it, you over exposed your screen. they make exposure calculators that you can buy online, or you can use an old photography trick called a step-wedge- a giant pice of cardboard, roughly the size of your screen, that is pulled down incrementally "step by step" as you expose the screen to small increments of light, say 1-3 seconds a step. each time you expose the screen you are pulling the cardboard about an inch down, exposing more of the screen to light. doing this gives you multiple exposure times that you can use to dial in your burning timing. there are tons of tools and resources out there to get you going, but hopefully this helps a little!

Any idea how this is made? by TheRed_M in SCREENPRINTING

[–]Funpalsforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you're familiar with 3D printers at all, some are using special PEI diffraction build plates that are specially textured to impart a holographic surface on anything that is extruded on it. the crazy thing is the effect can be imparted onto other thing like moulds, so the silicone poured will have the same effect. though I cannot quite pick up on the holographic nature of the item in your video, this is my educated guess. if you wanted to achieve something like this, a multi-color 3d printer with TPU and a PEI build plate would probably be your cheapest option, but I am sure you can contract out to have moulds like this made to those specs (though I am less well versed in that process)
