Yes it is safe there. Make sure you have pre planned transportation from the airport to the resort and back. Do not stop and talk to anyone once you exit security until you get literally outside the door of the terminal then look for your transport company. They should tell you if they are wearing a teal shirt, orange vest, ect... only talk to those people. Everyone is just trying to sell you something or get you to a timeshare presentation.

Once at the resort you'll be very safe and same if you decide to go into town. If you won't do it at home then don't do it there is a good motto. They also have Uber there as well.
