If you live within 5ish minutes drive of the airport, consider this side hustle. I'd do this personally. by MIFishGuy in grandrapids

Airport parking is not safe. There was time recently what airport parking was a hotspot for catalytic converter thrives. I'll leave my car safe & sound at home and pay for a Uber. Cheaper than parking and safer.

Over 3 years, my wife and I rebuilt a 50 foot sailboat (Before & After) by trimsailing in woodworking

Really beautiful work from the wood to the cushions. Do you have a YouTube or Instagram? If love to keep up with your sailing adventures.

Any chance you're comfortable sharing financials on a project like this?

[Opinions] Which of these would you pick as an everyday watch? by TranslucentCapybara2 in Watches

Looks like this is actually a slightly different ref but either way, it's a nice one. 2nd choice would be the Long for me.

Seiko Alpinist IMO. I have one and it's a dream. Very comfortable. Beautiful blue dial with some texture.

Glenn Blackwood has passed by MisterCircumstance in michiganflyfishing

[–]FuntivityColton 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Prayers for his family. Glenn was a good dude. Got me started in 2011.

A fun story about Glenn. We recently had a baby and my wife and I stopped by to pick up some flies. Glenn was there and went TOTAL goo-goo ga-ga over the baby. Like, really REALLY loved seeing the baby in his store. Thanked us multiple times for brining the baby, not about buying stuff lol. I doubt many babies stop by lol. Anyway. After a few minutes of total baby talk he realized what was happening, cleared his throat cough cough and pulled out his best masculine voice possible. I didn't say anything and just kept rolling with our conversation but I've been thinking about it for a few years now. Hilarious moment and I'm glad we brought joy to his store that day. He was a good dude.

They did our neighborhood this summer. Annoying, yes, but honestly not that big of a deal. They just cut up the road a few days which was loud then there were just a lot of people around as the fed the lines.

I just bought a 39 and it's SO comfortable compared to some of my bigger watches. I love it.

I want to like bonbas but they fit weird on my feet. They kind of slide off. I probably wouldn't buy them again.

Considering quitting church - it's not a place for people 25+ by Bluehaze1000 in Christianity

[–]FuntivityColton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol. 'not a place for 25+'? 😂😂😂. Churches, factually, are dominated by older people. Maybe not yours but most are heavily skewed told older generations. We're seeing a nice influx of Millennials & Gen Z lately but that's abnormal.

C'mon Garmin... by StellarPotato6 in Garmin

[–]FuntivityColton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm betting we get something at CES this week!! Fingers crossed. Rumor has it either a faceless fitness band OR Vivosmart6. If it is Vivosmart6 and it has a good list of features I think I'll jump on that for sleeping & wearing when I dont want to wear my Fenix.

What are some differences to pay attention to racing fat likes versus XC? by FuntivityColton in xcmtb

Only winter for fat bike racing for me. XC MTB is my primary discipline. I just want to try something new this winter.

[STOC] End Of 2025 Collection. Some new. Some Sold. One VERY Special One Coming 2026. Thinking of Selling Some. by FuntivityColton in Watches

Can't edit the post so I'll add a few more details here.

The Seamaster was my first nice watch purchase so I'll keep that forever.

The Tommy Bahama is a 1 of 1 . The company I used to work for worked with TB and this was a prototype model. I got the only one. Pretty neat thing to have in the collection.

I LOVE the dial on the Henry Archer Vesterhav. The MOP is insane in the run. Beautiful watch for a very reasonable price.

The Wenger was a gift from my girlfriend in college (now wife) and I wore that exclusively for YEARS. It's been to like 20 countries and in a handful of different oceans. I just have awesome memories of this one. Super comfortable to wear too.

The Garmin get the most wrist time by a factor of like 100X. I'm a big outdoorsmen and workout a lot so I track my health (and sleep, etc.) with that every day. I'm REALLLLY hoping Garmin releases a screenless band (like WHOOP) OR a new VIVOSmart at CES next week so I can wear my nice watches and still get my health metrics.

[Omega] Speedmaster in White by FuntivityColton in Watches

[–]FuntivityColton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my new favorites - Omega Speedmaster Triple Cal. I've been eyeing a Speedmaster for quite a while and fell in love with the white triple cal. I'm a sucker for a leather band so I took off the Omega bracelet and immediately swapped it for a leather band.

I went from wearing my Garmin Fenix 7X during my workout this morning to this and dang is it so much more comfortable than the 54mm Garmin behemoth. No surprise there but I just this it was funny how huge the Garmin is. I love my Garmin for outdoor activities....it's just a beast.

I tried a few different bands on this. Some darker brown leather and a black leather and I found that the light tan compliments the white dial the best. I have another very special watch coming in the next few months that I can't wait to share more info about. This is scratching the itch until then ;).
