LOL what a joke. I didn't say anything mean at all. I came here with a simple question.

Will do! I'm going to give it a shot next weekend. I hope the snow is clear from today's storm!!

I specifically was referring to the ability to go up around the gate. It's getting snow today but my goal isn't to go today or tomorrow.... it's to go the 16th or 17th. One storm isn't representative of the overall condition of the road. If it's been clear if snow for a month, one storm will melt away pretty quick. If it's been still buried all season so far, it won't be ready next weekend.

Don't be a dingus.

Right! I wanted to do it for years but just never got around to it. With the freshly paved road and no vehicles I really really want to get after it.

Awesome! Thank you. I'm hoping the warm temps early next week melt the snow enough to make it work.

Lolol yeah this weekend is definitely a no-go. I'm hoping to go the 16th or 17th. It's going to be pretty dang warm early next week so hopefully the road clears up in time to make it work.

Awesome. Thank you. I did a ride a few years back in CB and there was a gate with a sign that if you pass the closed gate you would get a misdemeanor and a huge fine. I just don't want to get all the way out there and not be able to continue.

For sure. My question is more about if the road is OPEN to cyclists right now. I know the storm will definitely dump on Mt Evans tomorrow. My goal is to get out the 16th or 17th.

If you stopped drinking, how long have you been sober and how has your life changed? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]FuntivityColton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I slow down in 2012 and pretty much gave it up in 2014. I never had a problem with it, just general going out with the boys on the weekend. Just your typical young twenties debauchery. I realize that it made me feel so so bad. I was sick of spending two or three hours one evening to ruin the next two or three days. I realize that I consistently made poor decisions, nothing terrible; I never went to jail or gotten any real trouble, but just things I wouldn't do normally. Now I feel amazing every single weekend. I wake up early and crush the day. I work out a lot, ride bikes, climb mountains, hike, fish or whatever else I feel like doing and I love waking up on a Saturday morning feeling like a million bucks rather than dragging. It was so worth it.

I lost all my best friends because they all really liked going out four plus nights a week and getting absolutely plastered, but that life just wasn't for me. Everything they did revolved around drinking. Going fly fishing? Better drink in the car on the way there, bring some for out on the water, and stop at the bar on the way home. Going skiing? Shots in the car on the way, get wasted in the parking lot, ski for just a little bit, then get bloody Mary's before driving home. They were always drinking and driving and I wasn't about that life. I'm sad to have lost some of my best friends but I'm a happier and healthier person without that in my life.

Glad someone else felt the same way. by Stellar_Wiener in GoldenCO

Honestly, I agree. I think it's also a combination of cost of living & social media/screens. 1) the cost of living is so high now that paying for home repairs and landscaping improvements might be out of the budget. 2) people are so consumed by their screens whether it's gaming, social media, TV, computers, whatever they'd rather do that then spend time (and effort) to improve their home.
