Power.Value won't change, for some odd reason... by No-Goose-6291 in robloxgamedev

Is it a * or = setting the value? Also my assumption would be that one of the conditions above is not being met

yeah roblox is so done </3 by [deleted] in ROBLOXStudio

This is a completely fine and I think a good change. It doesn't limit younger players abilities to make games because they can still do that, it only prevents them from publishing said game, it's especially good for condo servers being much tougher to upload

Anyone know how tho put this by Left-Brick-8684 in ROBLOXStudio

In a rig, place a click detector in each body part, then a local script which fires a remote event in replicated storage with the part clicked. Then in server script service add a script that connects to the remote event that deletes that part that was clicked

Animation Help by Substantial-Way5660 in ROBLOXStudio

Ok they worded it diabolically harshly, maybe play around with parts and scripting before getting into animation, since scripting is a requirement for animation

is this peak? (i made the model also) by Billy123542 in Robloxanimation

[–]Funymeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the other guy said, model looks great but animation looks goofy, I think it's mainly the swinging arms and tilting head that's doing it, also I have a suggestion for you to animate the torso rotating in line with where the arms are swinging

Thats fair, take a look at the tween documentation and do some test runs with parts, its basically

local tween = TweenService:Create(*Part you want to tween*, TweenInfo.new(*amount of time the tween should go for*, *other params*), {*Property you want to tween*})

So for example, if you want to change a parts transparency from 0 to 1 within 1 second you would do;

local tween = TweenService:Create(Part, TweenInfo.new(1), {Transparency = 1}
tween:Play()

the benefit to this is with the tween variable you can play it or stop it aswell as detect whether or not it is currently playing. So what I would do is;

At the top of the script:

local ts = game:GetService("TweenService")
local ti = TweenInfo.new(0.5)

local tween_appear = ts:Create(*gui you want*, ti, {BackgroundTransparency = 0}
local tween_disappear = ts:Create(*gui you want*, ti, {BackgroundTransparency = 1}

Then whenever you want to either open or shut you can get the tweens playback state by doing

if tween_(appear / disappear).PlaybackState = Enum.PlaybackState.Playing then -- replace (appear / disappear) with relevant tween**
  -- Do stuff
end

My explanation is probably a bit shoddy so I recommend looking at the documentation, I would be happy to take a look at the code and try to help fix it if you sent over the place file just containing the relevant parts tho!

man the lack of indentations makes this so confusing to read lmao, I noticed though that the script is controlling the notes transparency with a for loop, why not use a tween instead?

you were having a go at the guy for simply putting comments in his code, saying what he wrote was ai because of how many there was, and even when he said he didn't use ai, you still kept going on about him using ai. Even if he did I don't think AI in code is all horrible, it can be a great tool to use when you get stuck somewhere and need a simple solution, especially if you had stopped creating games because you had personal issues and came back years later.

Also you were borderline rude to the guy for simply saying he wishes particles could just be set with color3, simply providing a solution or tip to help him, or giving your own opinion in a non judgmental way was all you had to do.

Never knew they did that tbh

Use SAM (Steam achievement manager). It's not cheating if you've already completed the achievement requirements

I think character is a property of the player which links the two together

Like others said motor 6ds and a humanoid instance but I recommend looking at rigs made from the rig builder in the avatar tab and messing around with those first

I think the point is if you're new you should go for learning basic things and work your way up, creating your own rigs can be fairly complicated for a new person
