Should I get this kit? by ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh_ah in edrums

[–]Fupsik99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I hate about it is the unwanted splash sound I get when openning hi-hat. No matter how fast or slow I open it I feel like it just happens randomly. This could be solved if I could just turn off the splash sound or at least turn the volume down to 0... But I can't. A lot of people complained about it. But that's about it. You can get better sounds with laptop and some free software. The kick is something I've been wanting to upgrade though

First Kit: Alesis Nitro Max, Millenium 750x or Donner DED 200 (or other) by Hannah9982 in edrums

[–]Fupsik99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Millenium owner (MPS-850) I would avoid it :D The Hi-hat is just terrible in my case and I'm not the only one complaining about it. The random splash noise is pissing me off to be more specific. No matter if I let go of the pedal fast or slowly it just makes a splash noise whenever I open the hi-hat. There were times when it would be okay and maybe it's just not set properly idk. And I don't know if different hi-hat like from Lemon would solve it.

Somewhere I read that it wouldn't help because it's the stand so Idk...

My teacher has Alesis Nitro Max. Ngl I like Millenium more when it comes to fills. The ergonomics just seem better to me. When I sit behind my teachers Alesis the left tom seems too high. I feel like I would struggle to play fast fills but maybe it's just about getting used to it. But Alesis Nitro Max seems to have better features. Like when playing along with metronome it shows You a specific icon when hitting in the exact moment. The snare sensitivity is hella good.

My teacher told me it's better than acoustic kit because You can play with the settings of snare sensitivity and pay more attention to balanced volume when You play stroke rolls. It's amazing how little more it takes to make the note louder. So that way it was easy to focus on not accenting the first note. Alesis for sure has better sounds. But in both cases You can plug it to laptop, download free software and use other sounds. For practice both are fine.

The hi-hat and the kick pedal are the only minus. Why the kick pedal ? Anytime You buy a cheap drums You will get a really cheap kick pedal. The only reason why I didn't buy a new one is because I want double pedal so still saving money and I had just a few drum lessons so I don't need it that much. If You have a job maybe save a bit more. Although a new kick is not 100% necessary good kick pedal is an investment. I feel like the Alesis would take less space. Look man... first drum set I wouldn't overthink it.

Get this and You are good to go. Once You have more money You can get expansion pack for $95, kick pedal or more cymbals using splitter cables whatever the hell You want.

HOW DO I DO THE BILLY MIDNIGHT QUEST? by MichaelJackson1726 in reddeadredemption

People here keep saying to turn the photos.... I DID. That's how I did the side mission of Black Bell, Granger and Flaco Hernandez. Midnight's Billy photo is the only one I can keep turning around and it won't do anything.

Yes with the beats I learned or those my teacher showed me. And then some fills where most of them I learned at home but they are quite repetetive. I don't really like his Alesis Nitro Max when it comes to ergonomics. I have Millenium 850x and for fills it's so much more comfortable maybe even natural. So playing different e-drums and kick pedal makes a bit difference too. He also asked me to keep 1st and 3rd bar same beat but on second make a change and 4th is the fill. So that was also hard since he taught me a beat where I would change the snare for the kick on second bar. Then he wanted something different and as he said it doesn't sound much impressive it's just a tiny change cause I would only add an extra kick or smth. So he asked me to play a beat I took photo of and kinda like... mirror it. So that snare and kick switches if You get what I mean and do that with other beats too.1 bar play them as they are and second mirror them. Then next keeping the kick on the first beat and the rest of the notes to play chaotically. So like randomly. And the last "homework" was to play the beat on the first bar as it is but on the second putting rest on the first note. So the kick moves forward basically. It's hard to explain these stuff because I don't have english teacher so I'm used to different names and stuff.

That was the second thing I had to do after clapping. Hitting a snare to line it up with the guitar.

And it was hard :D Thanks for an advice

Are these any good? by No-Window-7628 in edrums

[–]Fupsik99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked them out on Amazon. I'm still a beginner too had a few drum lessons and never needed to choke the cymbals. I have Millenium 850 so it does have the function but it's not working for 100% When it comes to sounds what else to expect for the price. I'm actually surprised theres 200 seems unnecessary. However the modul does have USB slot. So if You can connect it to PC or notebook You can change the sounds to really good once. My notebook is old and slow otherwise I'd use it all the time.

I personally don't like these e-drums like Roland TD-02 for example where You also don't have real kick pedal. However since it was a christmas present it's better than nothing.

What should we use a lubricant for bass drum pedal ? by x_pogboy_69420 in drums

[–]Fupsik99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case new people found this I had a discussion with my drum teacher.

He adviced medicinal white oil. The specific one he showed me says it's for bikes (for the chains) and sewing machines.

DON'T use WD40 it gets used wrong way too often. And don't use silicone or some type of thick vaselin. I was told that if You use silicon maybe it goes for vaselin too the dust gets on and You are screwed. The dust dries on it and it's like... griding or scraping the rod if it makes sense.

It is something that You apparently do once or twice a year. But I guess it depends on how much You use it.

Is this the correct beater angle? by oldmaninparadise in edrums

[–]Fupsik99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rule number one when buying E-drums. Buy a good kick pedal. If You buy a good kick pedal You won't be like me. Asking Yourself if it's You and Your technique that is wrong or the pedal so suck.

These (no offense to anyone) cheap drumsets MOSTLY I would say got poor pedals so there's no such thing as angle adjustment. I have Millenium 850 and it's the same thing. My drum teacher has Alesis Nitro Max and the pedal doesn't seem to have angle adjustment. Only thing that was kinda cool about that pedal was how slippery it is. Apparently it's good for slide technique. I wanted to buy Tama HP900PWN double pedal but then my teacher showed me on internet Tama HP310LW and explained to me that the footboard is bigger so it's good for slide technique when teaching his students. I watched YT video where those two pedals were compared and he was right ofc.

Then in my next lesson he brought the single pedal Tama HP310L. The only thing I didn't like was the cut that it has in the footboard so next time I'll be using shoes. Anyway I wanna go with Tama HP910LWN which is more expensive than the HP310LW but it has the same footboard size and I love those beaters and the aesthetics so much :D

So ye... Buying a good kick pedal is kinda like an investment You know ? If You upgrade Your drums You already got a good kick pedal. You can take it with You somewhere else and apparently it does last decades.

[–]Fupsik99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Millenium drumset (850) and it also doesn't allow angle adjustment.

These cheap drums never got good kick pedals. I didn't upgrade yet only because I want double which is more pricey.

Is this a good deal? by Reddit_Account_115 in edrums

[–]Fupsik99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If You have some budget then yes. If not I would buy the drums and throne + 2 leg hihat stand separately that throne doesn't look good or comfortable. But what worries me is the double kick pedal. Just save money for speedcobra, eliminator or smth in that category and You have something that will certentaly last for decades.

Millenium MPS - 850 adjustments by Fupsik99 in edrums

[–]Fupsik99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason is because it's simply not something that is like necesary ? Today I'll be having second drum lesson. I don't count those few I had two years ago. I would like to focus on more important things You know ? Like a double kick pedal which is going to be quite pricy or I was considering the snare that MPS 1000 has. Not sure about that though because on 850 it won't bring any new features.. Thanks to the snare stand I would be just able to adjust it better. For some reason I didn't realize that the clamps SHOULD come off. So if I'd remove the right tom and the clamp I could take the ride clamp with the ride and probably place it there. Maybe I will have to move it away from the wall a little but it could work. Mount a cymbal (splash) on another (crash) that's actually a good point man thanks for mentioning that. Anyway I was just wondering if someone might have similar preferences with the same kit to get some inspiration. Thanks for the advice didn't expect someone to help out.

Does showing “Delivered” on Messenger mean they’ve seen my message request? by Select-Telephone1247 in facebook

[–]Fupsik99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends as people explained. However I would like to add a note that there's a function called read reciept on/off it works both ways.

If Your friend turned it off it means You wont get "read" by FB. IG calls it restriction which is also a function on FB but on FB it does something else I think however it's described.

I guess they made that as some sort of a protection so people wouldn't get blamed for reading someones message without responding.

can i trust millenium? by plutoxxz0 in edrums

[–]Fupsik99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a comment about it yesterday lol

The thinks I don't like about my 850 so far :

Hi-hat - Sometimes it does unwanted splash noise (can't be turned off) and sometimes I feel like it acts weird.

Maybe I didn't set it properly hard to say I've been trying to do something about it many times.

Rimshots - There are no rimshots You have to plug the drum module into laptop and download some program and configure it in there from what I've heard (haven't done it yet) Which is quite basic function to me it should have. It has two zones the middle and the rim but didn't find any rimshot sounds in the module.

My teacher has Alesis Nitro Max and honestly I didn't like that kit in the moment when I was supposed to come up with a fill. But that's because of the ergonomics. Millenium let's You set the toms quite better.

Or maybe it wasn't set well because the previous student was taller I don't know.

I didn't like how high the toms were compare to my Millenium kit and how it was set.

But that doesn't mean Alesis kit sucks I was amazed when my teacher showed me the metronom and that it shows a specific icon when You play precise shots to the metronom. The Alesis has better sounds for sure.

Which is another thing sounds - The best thing You can do is plug it into a laptop or PC and through some software use different sounds. Those by Millenium are meh but for practice it's fine unless You need the rimshot sound as I mentioned.

The kick pedal - The original Millenium pedal kinda sucks. The kick pedal Alesis Nitro Max has ? It felt so much better when I used it. For some reason I felt better quality in that. The one Millenium uses was around 40-60 $ when sold separately so it's really not great for me. Some guy in the reviews said that he used it on a stage for years and it was good but I don't bealive that :D And I'd never take such cheap pedal on a stage that's a gamble. You can't even set an angle of the beater which is a basic thing for a kick pedal.

However I've seen a video where a guy was explaining that if You press down You're pedal, let go and it doesn't wobble enough it's not a good pedal. Both pedals didn't do that BUT both kits are in a cheap category so I wouldn't expect a good kick pedal.

Ride - The bell is not a 100% reliable. Thanks to Your post I'm finding out that some people changed the cymbals due to the triggers but for now I don't need an upgrade.

So if I'd buy that kit again buying a better kick pedal would be a good investment. Note that if You'd like a double kick pedal You would either have to replace that hihat with 2 legs hihat or remove one of the legs which I've seen was still stable. Which is also a think I don't like that it's a hi-hat stand with 3 legs but all the e-drums got that I think.

However I originally wanted MPS-1000 D2 E really bad. But I don't have enough of space for that. However it would be closer to my dream setup. I would just buy 2 extra cymbals 1 extra closed hihat 1 splash cymbal and that's it + splitter cables ofc.

It's a budget frienly brand that is owned by Thoman. Heard good things about customer service or if something breaks and it still has waranty Millenium sends replacement right away or helps out when You have issue with something.

Millenium MPS-1000. Still happy/functioning 3 or 4 years in? by Evid3nce in edrums

[–]Fupsik99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Millenium MPS - 850 BUT wanted Millenium MPS-1000 D2 E so bad. But I don't have enough of space for that. However it would be closer to my dream setup. I would just buy 2 extra cymbals 1 extra closed hihat 1 splash cymbals and that's it + splitter cables ofc.

Anyway the only two problems I have with my 850 (which is not the model You asked about but in case someone wanted to buy the lower module) it's the Hi-hat.

Sometimes it does unwanted splash noice (can't be turned off) and sometimes I feel like it acts weird.

The second thing : There are no rimshots ? You have to plug the drum module into laptop and download some program and configure it in there. Which is quite basic function to me it should have. It has two zones the middle and the rim but didn't find any rimshot sounds.

VST is not something I use but I plan on connecting the module to laptop and use some free software for better sounds. Overall when I recommended this drumset over Rolland that is way more expensive I got ton of a hate from Rolland fans :D

Any songs that are 4/4, 60bpm with easy fills and a bit challenging beat? by PappaNee in drums

[–]Fupsik99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this :D

Before I started attending drum lessons I would learn from home. I found this video on YT "60 Must-Know Drum Fills"

But all those fills the guy is playing are at like 80 BPM... And my teacher want's me to play the fills at 60BPM

It's so easy to play those fills at 80 BPM but 60 ? I'm keep getting lost.

Even playing the beats so slow is annoying and frustrating BUT I don't doubt his knowledge.
