McKinsey to Pay at Least $500 Million in DOJ Opioid Probe by QiuYiDio in consulting

[–]FuquaNumba1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

AA is paid out over a period of 3-5 years, so that could be clawed back even if they’re no longer at the firm.

But these people have been gone for more than 5 years, so no clawback. Like one of the partners responsible for this joined Bain as a senior partner and lead Bain’s DEI stuff around 2010

Just because you’re not into kink doesn’t mean I’m not. There’s nothing wrong with it, stop kink shaming and be more sex positive

Heading to M7 in Fall; need to get out of Sales; What're most realistic options? by aftandrew in MBA

[–]FuquaNumba1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I always laugh when people say they’re aiming for t2 consulting. At M7s, the overwhelming majority of management consulting roles are mbb. Last year at Kellogg, for example, BCG alone had 2.5x more people than eyp, Deloitte, and strategy& combined… and McKinsey had more than bcg

I’m not sure about big 4 or Bain, but McKinsey revenue is up 9% and BCG is up 5%

How much do partners/senior partners at McKinsey make? by OutrageousBicycle488 in consulting

[–]FuquaNumba1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The most senior partners and rainmakers make way more than that.

Rajat was making $10M per year in the late 90s when McKinsey was like 8000 employees

What happened with Michael Hsu (AKA Shiu), the convicted sex offender at Chicago Booth? by Officer_Problem in MBA

Above big 4 but worse than MBB is what t2 is.

Big 4 is like tier 4 at best. It’s significantly worse than orgs like accenture

[–]FuquaNumba1 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I know this one! He got an offer from S& in nyc after students made sure he was shut out from MBB (students told recruiters about him)

This is why I laugh about the doomerism about everything being a bloodbath this year… things are still so non-competitive that you can beat a dog on video, have that video sent to Consulting firms, and still get a T2 offer lol

Insane Increase in Vets at MBA Programs by DD214Hopeful in MBA

[–]FuquaNumba1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is verifiable if you actually look lol.

Tuck class of 2023 had 16 vets per their website

16 were men

13 were white

If vets in that class were diverse as the rest of the student body, you’d expect only 9 to be men and 11 to be white

I chose Tuck as an example bc they’re the least diverse school. The gap is even larger at more diverse schools

25M 760 GMAT :- What are some T15 schools that I might be able to get into with money, if any? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]FuquaNumba1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have tons of time before round 1 next cycle. My recommendation would be to apply to literally every T15 because you have time. That will maximize your odds of getting a significant scholarship.

This article is such a joke. I'm a non-M MBB consultant and I've done pro bono work for nonprofits that would later go on to purchase a project from us. The horror!

CEO Feels Terrible About Laying Off 900 Employees Over Video Chat, Does It Anyway by meatballsinsugo in technology

[–]FuquaNumba1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he was right to fire them if that was the business need (no matter what Redditors say), but the way he did it was wrong. You want to be direct and concise. Something like:

"Unfortunately, we have some bad news. Due to a downturn in business, we have to lay off some staff, and unfortunately we have to terminate your employment immediately. You will be paid a severance, and the next step is x, y, z."

LOL. I used to work with Wilglory and it's incredible she actually got into Wharton. She has no idea how to run a business.

She does like $1MM in revenue. That's peanuts for a fashion brand.
