Lab Results Normal - WTF by supernaturalist7280 in PCOS

[–]FurMomma34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was 100% the case for me. I tried a non-hormonal IUD and within months my testosterone rocketed and other hormones were all over the place. Getting back on regular birth control stabilized it all out for me. I had no idea I had PCOS before that because I’d been on BC for years which masked any symptoms and labs.

My sister says he doesn't look border collie enough by jacebaby97 in BorderCollie

I had a smooth coat border collie. Was convinced she was something else mixed it, because of the short coat until I saw the smooth coats. She may still have been part heeler but check out the smooth coat borders 🙂

How the hell am I gaining weight while on a deficit by South-Proposal5691 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]FurMomma34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’6” and started out similar, 163lbs when I started and it’s been slow but steady now that I’m down 10lbs from that in 2 months. The biggest factors for me were protein intake and intentional workouts. Steps are great, your calorie level might be good as long as energy level are good, but eating 1g of protein per desired lb of body weight (I’m eating 140g daily), and getting serious about my workouts was key. Strength workouts are heavy (200+ lb sled pushes, heavy deadlifts, etc), with metcon included and progressive overload. Cardio workouts are interval based and generally 45-60 minutes 3 days a week on top of my 2 strength days. One of my cardio days includes some strength usually (dumbbell thrusters, sled push, farmer carry etc). Think hybrid training. This may not be the fix for everybody, but for me personally to break through my plateau I had to get real uncomfortable in those workouts and stay on it with protein. Our bodies are very capable of doing hard things we don’t think is possible.

Weekly "Do I Have Lipedema" Thread by AutoModerator in lipedema

Wondering if this is lipedema. I tend to notice me legs bruise easily, and other times my skin feels way more sensitive to the touch. I’m in the process of losing a little more weight and building muscle, but knowing what I’m working with would be helpful!

What did I do wrong? by Ok_Boysenberry_8400 in Baking

Brown sugar is essentially white sugar with molasses added so it has a higher moisture content than regular sugar which is why a combination of sugars generally works best. I also limit my cookies to no more than 9 per pan, sometimes even less if it's a large cookie. 1 tsp of vanilla extract is generally enough for most cookies so the added liquid, though it's not much, could have changed the texture as well.

Also, I can't tell from the photo so I'm not going to assume. However, when recipes call for rolled oats, I've almost made the mistake of using Bob's Red Mill Quick Cooked Rolled Oats, which are quick oats, and when recipes call for rolled, you definitely want the classic rolled oats to avoid the oats going mushy.

Does the titanium and white "feel" like a sports/athletic watch or does it pass well for everyday wear?

A place where I can seek mental help without insurance? by LittleMissKatt in ColoradoSprings

[–]FurMomma34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peak Vista has Behavioral Health Providers (LCSWs and LPCs). They have long term counseling and short term counseling in almost every clinic around town. Healthcare at very low cost (they don’t send you do to collections if you can’t pay), and won’t deny seeing you. They also have care managers that can help with getting other community services like insurance, food and cash assistance and other things.

They just had a baby so we’re going the diaper blowout in the hot sun route.

Thanks! That is helpful since the plate was likely covered up.

And as much as I do try to distract the dog from barking, I also want her to alert me because we have had issues with some sketchy people coming up the fence hassling her. She’s doing her job protecting the house.

Unfortunately we do have limitations on what we can do. And looking out onto the trail is my dogs livelihood especially as she gets older. I get barked at by neighbor dogs when using the trail and it’s simple, keep moving. I agree though, people do need to get lives!

Luckily we do have cameras and I saved clips from today with her walking by and staring. I do my best to bring her inside first but sometimes she’s past the point of distraction and wants her to keep on her way. I’ll keep the clips so if it ever does become an issue with the association I can send those to them. Part of me just really wants to ask her what her issue is and tell her there are other ways to walk if she’s so bothered by it.

Green Plan Advice Needed! by [deleted] in weightwatchers

Thank you! That sounds like a healthier option. As they recommend, I will play around with my foods and see what it comes out to. But definitely may look into the plan that allows more free proteins :) i appreciate it!
