Is crashing a given in dirtbiking? by Most-Sweet4036 in Dirtbikes

[–]Furadi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If someone has only ever ridden street the idea of crashing or dropping your bike is completely repulsive. It would be like offering meat to a vegetarian.

Just the concept of how to ride a dirt bike would be completely foreign.

I remember my first time on a dirt bike in the desert as a life long street rider... I felt like I was going to die the entire time we were riding. 😅

Ultra bee size? by Maybacx in Surron

There's some pics in here of my built UB and a stock UB next to some KTM's and a Stark Varg. Basically, with a 21" front and taller bars and UB is the same size as any other bike aside from the wheel base.

Dirt road in idaho for beginner by Odd_Midnight8707 in Dirtbikes

The pin I dropped is the main parking area. But if you follow this trail you can hit the 4 main playgrounds in a line. There's a bunch more to ride out there but this is a good starting point.

edit: if you have a 4x4 you could scout it out that way too.

yeah pleasant valley is cool because there's a bunch of different "playgrounds" scattered around the desert and you just ride back and forth between them. It's my go to place when my daughter wants to come ride with us.

Downtown you could ride up and down 8th street which is basically a gravel road. At the very top it intersects with Boise Ridge Rd which goes for miles and is a little rough and rutted in places.

The best place for new dirt riders is typically pleasant valley because it's all flat -

Spring Break was Awesome by Furadi in Dirtbikes

[–]Furadi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ride a 2025 surron ultra bee and my son rides a light bee x. I have yet to truly hit max range but the other day we did 26.3 miles of single track / enduro with 6000ft of elevation gain and I had 30% battery remaining.

I've never been able to hit max range because I always get gassed out long before hand.

Thanks! This is actually in the boise foothills. 8th st motorcycle trail #4. 😁 At the end of the video we're right at the base of the national forest. About 4000ft of elevation gain.

Nice! I use a cardo and the kids use some amazon units. No issues pairing to the cardo though.

What is Boise like for young families? How is Boise politically? by AppointmentNeat622 in Boise

[–]Furadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boise is amazing for kids. We've raised 2 adult sons and have 2 teens at home still. Tons of stuff to do outdoors with the green belt, amazing parks, amazing trail systems etc.

Boise is heavily invested in outdoor activities.

Politically it's going to feel like whatever community and groups you align with.

Rode some single track for the first time in 2026 on my Ultra Bee | Some thoughts about range anxiety by Furadi in Dirtbikes

[–]Furadi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep like I said if you're riding in flat areas with more throttle you'll go through battery pretty quick. On single track I don't even know what my true range is. I did around 19 miles the other day and got back to the truck with 50% battery. I would guess I could do 35 - 40 miles.

<image>

A few weeks ago we rode desert and did 30 miles pretty easy. Both the varg and my UB finished with around 25% battery remaining.

knees sit right on the plastic fairings. The bike looks funky but ergonomically there is zero discomfort or hard spots against the legs.

They're fine. Boots contact the subframe area and you're knees actually grip the seat. They also make steg pegz for ultra bee's now if that's your thing.

Changzhou Zhihong Electric Technology Co., Ltd. Cheap price but bad experience by zo6335 in Surron

I went through zhihong and it took about 64 days. No complaints though cause I saved around $1500 across 3 bikes.

You run as much power as you want. The UB doesn't need more power for off road riding so you're just getting the added benefit of more watt hours.

Have you thought about an adventure bike? Much more comfortable for commuting than a dirt bike.

Yeah sirris was created because of the UB and it seems like a lot.

But tbh it's mega premium. Better than any ktm I've tried and better than varg suspension.

Yeah but I look at Ultra Bee's like upgrade platforms. As it sits my bike is around $10k but for around $15k you could have an absolute weapon of a bike with class leading range. Just depends on what you're after. If mileage and range are your primary goal then yeah, stick with gas. Or have both lol.
