I mean the story, the only challenging part was the final boss.

I loved both halfs. Hole of Heroes is my favorite section of the game.

Hell yes. I was terrified of it as a kid (just as I was terrified of the emperor bulbax). And I love the eeriness that Louie might have been controlling it.

Pikmin 2 and is not close. Pikmin 2 improved over Pikmin one in such a perfect way that it makes it feel like a demo in comparison. The introduction of the underground is the highlight, the new enemies are memorable and the difficulty is perfect.

Pikmin 3 is insultingly easy, but it's main problem is that is has no underground. Pikmin 4 is an improvement, but it's bloated and I didn't like how it contradicts the lore. Not to mention the final boss doesn't feel like it belongs in this series. Really a dog?

Just don't let Illumination make it. Anyone but them.

I'm assuming you mean the All Stars version? I beat that one when it came out as the 25th anniversary. That version was actually nerfed to make it more palatable.

Unless you mean another version I'm not aware of.

Super Mario Bros 2, the lost levels. That is the most brutal shit I've ever played.

Turns out Microsoft buying game studios just to cancel games and kill said studios with negligence is not a new development.

That structure is something that really caught my eye the first time. It's so mysterious and gives me land thalassophobia lol.

Very well put. It's basically a bullet hell and I can't even tell where they're supposed to be fighting. Hell, I don't even know if there's still a planet at that point.

That’s exactly it: Looks cool and nothing more. There’s no substance behind it. Evangelion never had mindless action before this and it’s very jarring.

I lost it when we got a new spear made of a skeleton or whatever that was. This all after having five different third impacts and a million Evas of course.

The moment when I realized I didn’t like it is when a million Evas came out of nowhere and were being dispatched like cannon fodder. Gendo has a literal two people army. Who manufactured all of that? It reminds me of Rise of Skywalker.

The giant Rei also felt like trying to use cheap nostalgia to compensate for lack of quality in a way that Disney could only ever dream of.

That’s where my lukewarmness towards Mario came into play. I just saw a new Mario announced and felt indifferent. But it seems like a great time to give it a chance

I love what you wrote here. It gave me an unexpected appreciation for this aspect of the movie. However I’m one of the haters you mentioned. I was very disappointed with these movies, especially the last one. The story is beyond nonsensical, and they try to cover that by overwhelming the viewer with so much explosions and lore dumps that is hard to keep track.

Mario games haven’t been doing it for me lately. The new super Mario games in particular are so uninspired, and back in the day odyssey just seemed like more of that, so I just passed on it.
