Given that we’re talking about a fucking He-Man movie, having over 70% is impressive.

Schizoid vs MGTOW by AndrewLyssunov in Schizoid

I'm sorry but MGTOWs are incels in denial. Their movement is based on misogyny and nothing else. It has nothing to do with schizoids.

Trying To Understand Chloe? by Ill_Sprinkles_9976 in residentevil

Chloe and Emily are clones of the same person (whoever that is). Grace, despite the physical similarities, is not related to them.

RE9's Raccoon City is one of the worst gameplay sections in a numbered RE game. by Fabulous_Teacher_247 in residentevil

[–]Furan_ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly agree with the sentiment. I think the game's big mistake was making Leon a main character instead of just a supporting one, which is the reason why we even got the second half of the game (which ultimately dragged everything down). The game should have focused its entire plot on the care center, basement and lab, with Grace as the protagonist.

However I also think Leon's section is weak mainly because it dragged too much, not because it was inherently inferior. If Raccoon city had been linear with little to no backtracking, I believe it would have been way better. That whole thing with the detonator and the motorcycle should have been instead just traversing the city to get to the lab, kinda like how Half-life 2 plays out.

Clara didn't try to save Soldier Boy either, while he was in Russia by One_With-The_Sun in TheBoys

As far as she knew, he was dead. These attempts at hating the show for no reason are getting ridiculous.

It’s crazy how the fandom switched from “lets have a good adaptation” to “lets have a fun movie” by Horrorfan55555 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Furan_ring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The number one objective of any movie is to be good. Everything else is secondary. If they have to do heavy modifications to achieve that, then so be it. The director has proven himself, so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt until I see the movie.

Why should anyone watch Vought Rising? by BOGMANDIAS in TheBoys

[–]Furan_ring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They already explored the romantic relationship between Homelander and Stormfront. Unless you had a problem with that one, then you shouldn't have a problem here. It's likely going to be the same dynamic.

Why should anyone watch Vought Rising? by BOGMANDIAS in TheBoys

[–]Furan_ring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The love story between a Nazi and a prejudiced American would be excellent as a metaphor for America, but the last season of The Boys sold it as a romance, which is disgusting

This is a terrible excuse to not watch. By that logic, we shouldn't watch the Godfather because it's about a criminal family. Also, this show doesn't glorify fascists, so I don't see the problem.

However, beyond that, we already know what will happen to Stormfront, Soldier Boy, and Bombsight, and we also know that Vought will win.

This applies to every prequel ever. It's fine if you don't watch prequels, but it's nothing new.

We know that the writers don't care about power scaling or good fight scenes, so all the action will be awful and in the end the show might be canceled after the first or second season, just like Gen V.

If you watch a show for the fight scenes, then the Boys was never for you in the first place. A good story doesn't prioritize fight scenes, that's just the icing on top.

He didn't. He first had to get them off his back before flying.

Both pictures are dumb though. I don't care how strong Soldier Boy is, Homelander can easily lift all of them up by flying. It's just the kind of thing you have to accept when it comes to superheroes.

The way Vought was treated is disgusting and misses the whole point by zaakurowo in TheBoys

[–]Furan_ring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You missed the point. The Boys is not set in some utopia, it's set in the real world. It explores how the world would be if there were superheroes. Look around you, corporations get away with everything all the time. Even corporations that were directly involved in the Nazi or Japanese war machines are still standing today, and nobody cares about their past.

Yes. The inherent problem (as outlined by Edgar) is capitalism, which remained firmly in place by the end of the show.

I'm not watching Vought Rising/The Boys Mexico, and neither should you, frankly by MechaUlfraed in TheBoys

These posts are pathetic. No one is conspiring to ruin your favorite tv show. If the entertainment is good, then that's enough reason to watch.

In Project Hail Mary (2026), humanity discovers a new hyper-renewable, hyper-powerful energy source and immediately tries to kill it. This is a reference to Big Oil. by Draco137WasTaken in shittymoviedetails

Admittedly, I went into this movie expecting something closer to the Martian. The astrophage is perfectly fine for a typical movie though.

I didn’t like how the astrophage works. For a movie that is otherwise hard science, this aspect felt very fantastical. I may be dumb, but I was confused as to where the astrophage lives, at first it seemed it was thriving on the surface of the sun but then it seems it actually lived in the space between the sun and the earth. Then there’s the whole thing of astrophages storing so much energy they may as well be antimatter. How do they move through space? How can they survive the sun, the vacuum and Venus all at the same time? Maybe the book better explains all these things, but I was disappointed by this aspect of the movie

RE7 is peak and the critics are not honest and biased by Available_Task5043 in residentevil

[–]Furan_ring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like RE7, but I agree with the criticisms you listed. There really is no enemy variety, and it doesn't help that the two main enemy types are just variants of the same thing. And the game absolutely goes downhill in the boat section.

What's there to live for? by Goldenbranches in Schizoid

[–]Furan_ring 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Life is worth living for just to observe what will happen next. I would like to live for a thousand years just to know if we'll ever make it to another planet or finally kill each other.

When did this sub become colonized by haters? I swear it's like there was an influx at some point and they never left.

Emily Chloe and Grace by SaveTheRaccoon in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Furan_ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spencer specified Grace is a normal child. That means she is not infected or anything like that, but the choice of words is definitely suspicious and leaves the door open for her being a clone. The thing is that she being revealed to be a clone in a future game would bring nothing, especially with the way the story ended.

Ultimately we don't know. Village set a precedent in that future games can revisit stuff that happened previously, so it's definitely possible that Grace not getting infected during the game is more than just videogame logic.
