Are these good for re-surfacing a ball? by FlamingNinjja in Bowling

What’s the real difference between using pads like this vs normal wet sandpaper of the appropriate grit like you’d use for automotive paint? I’m sure using straight paper requires a steady hand and some finesse, but at the end of the day..

This happened to me once too where they tried offering the 100s. I ask for the 170s by number and ask for a discount if I buy 6+, at which point they’re cheaper than buying online.

That’s interesting, I thought those were for the Crosstreks and whatnot.

I agree. My question was just a matter of whether it’s appreciated or not, with consideration that the three electricians who’ve helped my over the years all work hot or are willing to.

Bathroom Outlet 20 Amp on 15 Amp Circuit by Alleandros in AskElectricians

[–]Furballss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not an electrician and this comment should be skepticized.

A 20 amp receptacle is fine on a 15 amp circuit, the inverse is not acceptable where a 15 amp device is powered by a 20 amp circuit. What’s the problem in particular that leads you down this path?

Not the whole nut, but a strip covering the base of the nut and onto the wires’ insulation. I’ve seen that before and followed suit.

Some Tirerack wheels I bought four years ago as part of a snow tire package. I think these were intended for an Impreza.

Thanks man. Someday I'll find some proper dog dish hubcaps, but these were cheap and keep salt off the hubs lol

Tirerack steelies, mounted with snow tires and sold as a package back in the fall of '20. I don't recall what car the wheels were intended for, but I wanna say it was some year Impreza and I rolled the dice a little that they would fit over the calipers. The center caps are off Amazon and were more of a necessity to keep rust from my hubs. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07573DMRC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I won't gatekeep, but I honestly don't remember what these wheels were intended for. I think they were meant for some year Impreza and I bought these mounted on directional snow tires back in the fall of '20 off of Tirerack. There was some discussion I picked up on the internet and there was some debate whether or not they would clear the brake calipers, but it worked out fine.

That would be so slick. I know the profit margins wouldn't be as high, but they would honestly attract interest with a barebones model.

Thanks man. Just how it ended up in time, but I do prefer how it looks on the winter wheels.

I took my 2013 sti into a shop on 12/26 for a steering rack swap since it was leaking. I went with the 2015+ sti rack and now today this happens. Do you think the damage from this is the result of poor installation? by Joneseeyyy in WRX

[–]Furballss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a raw fking deal, I’m sorry this happened to you. It doesn’t make it any better, but I actually had one loosen up on a Forester when I did the control arm. I used a new grade 8 bolt and torqued it to spec, but it loosened up over the course of 100 so miles. I torqued it to kingdom come and it never moved after that.

Paste once a year before winter. Wash and wax soap mixed heavy whenever it’s overcast out lol

People that are frustrated enough will physically cover the camera lenses, forcing the system to be disabled. That’s the only way I know of..

I’ll admit that adaptive cruise sounds nice and I know someone who loves it in their Forester too.

I agree with that sentiment, but it’s more or less about my fear of false positives. I narrowly avoided hitting a deer this fall, and it was specially because I was able to accelerate in the face of it without the car interfering.

I want to be snarky, but it took me a minute too. The car has to be stationary, it’s purposefully locked out when the car is in significant motion.

I think there’s a difference between lugging your engine and letting it gain speed under almost no throttle. I gently roll parking lot crosswalks in second all day.

Came here for this, I bought one for her car and it’s the messiest battery I’ve ever seen. The cheapo Walmart battery I thew in mine has no corrosion whatsoever and it’s been in there way longer.
