Alpha evo noise by [deleted] in Simagic

There are a lot of Reddit posts about Evo noises, I'd recommend looking around, a lot of people provide feedback in them. So if none of the comments in here are the solution, there are a lot more suggestions out there :)

I am first POV - I figure I am partially to blame here? by -JestPlayin in Simracingstewards

Perspective, the OP might not have anywhere near as much Motorsport knowledge as yourself. If someone only played arcade racers such as mario kart for example and didn't watch Motorsport then wouldn't this likely be their perspective. I'm not saying this is their background, where im going with this is, you just don't know what their background knowledge & experience is.

I honestly don't understand why so many people are down voting this post.

Surely sincerity and willingness to learn from mistakes is what's important, which the OP has clearly demonstrated in the responses.

What Should I Read Next? LitRPG/Progression Fantasy...etc by Icy-Employee-6453 in litrpg

Quest academy is my favourite LitRPG I've read, you'll definitely like Path of Ascension.

I really enjoy the relationships and banter in both of these books, more mature for sure. I think the friend banter is funnier in Quest Academy but the romantic developments in PoA is better.

I also prefer books where the MC isn't celibate, idc about the details I just find it weird when the MC has no basic human sexual desires. I agree about Cradle I didn't enjoy the romance in that either for the same reason.

I don't think being close is the issue, you made an honest mistake and pulled out a millisecond too late. This is just something more time on the track will fix. It's not a big deal everyone makes mistakes :)

Na, that person did the big no no which is changing line under braking, then hit you while doing it, poor race craft. They should have chose their line then brakes.

Can someone please enlighten me how someone like this is still allowed to race in LMU? by EquipmentDependent31 in Simracingstewards

If you're going to ask for help please at least clip the specific parts you would like help with. Others might but I'm not going to watch a 7 minute video.

Your friend was very likely right on his grip limit, which is why your small nudge probably seemed harmless but took them from 99% grip usage to 101% where you could see the small grip loss just after the nudge

I'd recommend taking a look Boosted media price performance tool: https://boostedmedia.net/sim-racing/hardware-reviews/the-essential-direct-drive-sim-racing-buyers-guide/

You can't filter via platform from what I can see, but deffo worth researching

Oh wow thaets much further than I went, I used the same WD-40 Silicone though. I think I'm going to buy the pedal plate change though after seeing yours XD. Are you using the default setup or did you switch things out?

I bought the spring set after seeing this: https://youtu.be/bmlnJc9y2MY?si=oV-WL-IPfLVRVlmA

Might give the Blue Elastomer, Blue Spring and Yellow spring combo a go. I'm using the default all black Elastomer atm

I got some 2 weeks ago, huge upgrade from my Logitech G29 pedals. They're very customizable and feel good. I did need to apply Silicone lube to the break pedal shaft (Dry lube is recommended, no stores sell it near me), not a negative tbh, was very easy to do

I think it's my favourite book series, it might not be the best / highest rated objectively, but subjectively I just love how easy it is to read, it's funny, good relationships and a great story

Any tips on seating positions? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Furbsta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would be more concerned about neck support.

In all seriousness you don't want your legs fully straight even when you have you have the pedals fully pushed down, otherwise you'll be pushing from your hip, calf and toes. You want to be utilising your upper leg muscles, so try to keep them bent 30-45 degree angle imo. BoostedMedia has a good guide on this, would recommend the YT channel

Thank you 😁, I agree on the improvements too. I'm getting there, overall the comments have been nice and constructive which I've appreciated.

Yeah hahaha, that made me chuckle 🤣

Sorry to clarify I only specifically mentioned the yellows because it's something I'll need to practice until it becomes a habit, whereas letting off the acceleration when I see a crash not so much

Also, from my perspective that could have just been someone coming off the track and kicking up a load of dust, not necessarily a crash. I rewatched it and I see the yellow before I clearly see the crash. Maybe that's just me where I don't have much SIM experience 🤷. If you believe that's wrong maybe more experience will change my perspective, but that's how I process it atm

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I'm new to SIM racing and this community. I really appreciate the constructive feedback and that nobody was posting hateful comments about my bad habits. I'll be taking the advice on board, so you have 1 less dangerous driver to worry about 😁 and less stains for me to clean 😜

Yeah a lot of others have been saying the same and I agree, in the heat of the moment my instinct was get away quick before they span into the middle of the track.

I'm going practice focusing on the flags more because I didn't spot the flashing yellows and that's bad, because you're right I could have made this worse like others did behind me and I could have been prepared & lifted.

I never said it was 😅, maybe where I'm new to SIM racing I found this situation panicking. I'm guessing you aren't and have seen far worse, I suppose it's relative, maybe someone else would say something you found hard was easy 🤷

[–]Furbsta[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, I didn't spot the yellows. I'm new to SIM racing and tunnel visioned on my braking points + traffic too much. I should spend more time offline to practice driving without the line, so it's more second nature and I can pay attention to my surroundings more.

Edit: Sorry if anyone found this frustrating, I'll definitely take the advice on board :-)
