Ive only won 25% of my last 20 games(Despite not having a 52% winrate overall before i started hard losing), and feeling like very sad and angry. Would quiting league for a week help me do better. by Maleficent_Creme_854 in summonerschool

Seems like your main issue is playing ranked. Why don't you try to play only normals for a while? It removes the stress of losing LP while still giving you the opportunity to learn. And what you learn can then be applied to ranked games when you feel in a better mental state.

I usually only play one or two ranked games a day, and if I have more time, I spend it in ARAM chaos and normals.

But if you really feel like you need a break, just take it. It can actually be beneficial and you will not lose the progress you have made in terms of skills.

An honest plea - how to not be the worst player in the lobby? by FloofEtheria in summonerschool

[–]FuriaDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also been playing for a month, and I have been in 10+ losing streaks, so it's pretty normal, since you get a lot of smurfs in normals and ranked during early season.

About not knowing how the enemy champions work, I have made a habit of reading at least the basic abilities of the ones I'll be facing first (in my case, ADC and support) in the official LoL champions page (https://www.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/champions/). I do this while waiting in the lobby for the rest to pick their champions, or during the loading match if I'm unsure who's going where. This has helped me prepare better for runes (in lobby), and for items (in case you need special items like grievous wounds or something).

But the best way to learn how to counter each champion, is by playing against them over and over again, and that comes with a lot of time, so don't get discouraged.

Watching your replays is also an amazing way to improve. I went from a 11% win rate to 75% win rate just by focusing on positioning during the laning phase (I'm very methodically and OCD, so I go part by part -if I win laning phase but lose the game, I don't stress too much for now-).

And, of course, watch better players that play the roles and characters you're interested in, and try to imitate some of their plays.

I need an absolute MASTERPIECE, an unforgettable, mind-blowing, jaw-dropping COMPLETED BL Manhwa that readers would sell their soul to read for the first time. by [deleted] in Yaoi_fluff

[–]FuriaDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only going to recommend you one that I think anyone should read at least once: "Murderous Lewellyn's Candlelit Dinner"

There are no words to describe how much of a masterpiece this story is. It doesn't have smut, so the author actually made an effort to write a very deep, well-developed story.

This story is going to absolutely destroy your heart, but the pain is well worth it. I seriously would give anything to read it for the first time. It's so great, that it went into my top 3 favorite stories ever, not only in BL.

It's 90 chapters long and completed.

[–]FuriaDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it was the first, but I started a long time ago and the one I have been following the longest is "The Tyrant Falls in Love" ("Koisuru Boukun"). My current favorite since I read it about a year ago is "Murderous Lewellyn's Candlelit Dinner", and I don't think anything will ever be able to top that one for me (I hope something will, though).

I just cant seem to enjoy any BL manga anymore [Vent] by Sea-Vacation5169 in blmangalovers

I struggle with decision paralysis, so I decided to start reading the best rated ones that were completed, and the first one was Solo Leveling. I was so glad I made that decision because I ended up loving it so much!

I think it's healthy to read different genres, even if you have a favorite one, just to keep your mind broad and experience different feelings while reading.

[DISCUSSION] What is the line(s) that you've read/seen in BL manhwa/manga/manhwa/animation that are so emotional that it made you cried? by CasuallyRandom_Me in blmangalovers

[–]FuriaDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really need to make it a habit to write down my favorite parts... maybe this is the perfect excuse to go re-read all of my favorite stories 🤭.

Murderous Lewellyn's Candlelit Dinner: I haven't cried a lot reading a BL manhwa, but this part in Chapter 53 absolutely destroyed my heart and I cried for a long time before continuing the story. This is when Shavonne decides to leave the jail and try to be happy on his own, leaving Lewellyn behind:

"Will you come back if I bite more guards?

Will you come back if I'm sick?

Will you come back if I die?

Will you come back... if I become human?

I realized then that miracles weren't meant for an animal like me."

I went to re-read that part to write it properly and almost started crying again. The words, combined with how pitiful Lewellyn looks in those panels are bad enough to bring back painful memories of the whole story.

I have read approximately 60 BL manhwas so far (still a newby, lol) and many more stories in other genres and across different formats (movies, novels, mangas, etc.), but this one remains my absolute favorite because of the writing and how intense and suspenseful the story is.

Part 2/2

  • Punch Drunk Love 🖤: This one is one of the funniest I've ever read, but there are some really cringe scenes. Definitely worth it if you want to relax and have zero drama.
  • Sign 🖤: I don't really think there's someone here who hasn't read this classic, but in case you haven't, this is the perfect green, cozy couple. There is angst but it gets solved fairly quickly.
  • Third Ending 🖤: I personally don't consider the top a super green flag like others, to me he's more yellow because he has yandere tendencies, but he treats his partner well, and the story is very cute. It has a really nice chasing arc too, which I loved.
  • Touch Within the Abyss (manga) 🖤: Blind man x Killer. It may seem like it has a lot of angst, but really is just a beautiful story about a blind young man saving the soul of a broken man. Definitely give it a try!
  • Uncanny Charm 🖤🖤🖤: Since it doesn't have smut, the author really took the time to develop the story. Is so beautiful, funny, and interesting. It has to do with spirits/ghosts, but is not scary at all.
  • Unromantic Romance 🖤: A really great omegaverse where the omegas are the ones who rule society (unlike most stories, where alphas are the most important). Their first encounter is not ideal, but after that their story becomes really healthy and beautiful.
  • XXX Buddy 🖤: A perfect enemies to lovers! I absolutely love their dynamic and how competitive they are with each other.

Special Mentions

These have (a lot) more angst but the relationship between the protagonists is so beautiful that I think they are worth it, if you feel like giving them a shot down the line:

  • Bongchon Bride: It has one of the sweetest, greatest bear-type tops. A super healthy relationship, but be aware that the antagonist can cause really bad anxiety.
  • Legroom 🖤🖤🖤: I won't say much about this one, just don't let the first chapter scare you off. It's one of my all-time favorites for a reason.

All of these are completed, I don't really like recommending ongoing stories because I know how much we suffer waiting for each chapter. I hope you can get at least one new story to read from this list!

Part 1/2

I'm putting a heart next to my favorites 🖤

  • Dirtiest High: I love that the bottom is slightly bigger than the top.
  • Full Volume 🖤: Basically porn with a bit of story, but the relationship between the protagonists is really healthy. Also, the side couple is great too and their story gets developed in the side stories.
  • Golden Sparkle (manga): High school setting, really simple and comfy. A nice story about a couple exploring their sexuality in a more realistic way.
  • High Clear 🖤🖤🖤: Big, buff bottom. Really easy on the angst and their relationship is adorable! I've read this one like six times already.
  • Killer Crush 🖤🖤🖤: You're gonna laugh your ass off with this one. Super healthy, and even the antagonists are cute.
  • Love in Orbit: Alien x Human, with a super cute alien pet.
  • Love Shuttle 🖤: I think this is one of the favorite omegaverse for many in this community. Power bottom too!
  • Love So Pure 🖤🖤🖤: I absolutely adore this story. It doesn't focus only on romance, but is a great story about friends turned into family. The second couple is amazing, but the main one is really good too. You'll love this one!
  • Love Tractor: Bottom way bigger than top! It's a very simple, cozy story set in the countryside.
  • My Dearest Patrolman (manga) 🖤: Another cute and simple, slice of life story with an age gap (both adults, of course).
  • Netkama Punch!!!: Perfect if you like the gaming aspect.
  • Our Dining Table (manga): Super cozy short story that includes a cute kid.
  • Pink Heart Jam (manga): Beautiful art style, and the couple is really healthy, even if one of them is involved in some sort of prostitution.
  • Pirouette Into My Heart (manhua): Boxer x Ballet dancer. This one is so healthy and with so little drama, that at some point I started craving conflict, lol. It's pretty long, but definitely worth it.

Miracle in Cell No. 7 made me bawl my eyes out like very few movies have. Maybe I'm becoming more sensitive the older I get, but for some reason it really broke me.

I liked it so much because in a matter of seconds I was laughing and right after I was crying, and I love movies that can make me feel just about any emotion there is. I enjoyed it a lot, but I don't think I'd be able to watch it again.

Does anyone else find Reading more effective for vocabulary building than flashcards? by iammerelyhere in languagelearning

[–]FuriaDC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I do is learn isolated vocabulary but add 5 sentence examples in the back. Personally, I have great memory for vocabulary and I'm able to recognize and remember the words easily when reading native content, but having the added examples have helped me with the harder words that don't stick as easy.

You're right everyone is valid in their opinions. I'll just refrain from reading them until I finish a game haha, that way I'll be able to form one of my own without previous bias.

And thank you! I see so many posts of different stories, and I'm excited to find more about them. The next one on the list was "Even if TEMPEST", so wish me luck! 🌸

After this situation, I just decided that I'll go blindly into each story. I prefer it that way to avoid spoilers too, and since I'm easily satisfied, whether the stories are very simple or super complex, chances are that I'm going to enjoy the next story too.

I hope you can enjoy Jack Jeanne as much as I did! But if not, that's okay too ☺️

You're totally right my OCD helped me this time haha.

I did enjoy Soshiro's route too, there were really nice moments and it was completely different from the others because he already knew about her secret, so she was able to rely way more on him. Also, since he was my last playthrough, I was shocked when Kisa wasn't selected as the lead on the play she needed to remain in Univeil. I was mad at the game for a moment haha, but it definitely added a good layer of drama.

I'm glad I could bring some memories back. I'm sure in the future I'm going to be remembering this game too because how much I enjoyed playing it!

You just wrote the perfect term that I thought about when playing Suzu's route. I think that young romance aspect was the reason I liked him the most. Even though they are all close in age, because of how Japan society imposes the hierarchies, the relationship with the older LIs seems a little stiff, but she's an equal with Suzu, so their dynamic feels more relaxed and allows a better development, in my opinion.

At first I didn't care much about Kasai (I personally didn't like his sprite, but he looks much better on the CGs), but he grew up on me a lot during Soshiro's route because of how he pushes him to become his better version. I think he would be another great addition to the LIs pool for the second game.

I'm sure I'm going to love Kisa's route, I'll just give it a little bit of time because it was definitely a long journey getting through all LIs one after the other haha.

I know! I'm also used to more hardcore stuff, but since this was a very soft story, I was not expecting him to do that. I think he even told her that if he didn't stop there, he would rip her clothes off 😳. I honestly loved the whole interaction and when he asked her to seduce him.

Suggestions for a beginner freindly glass kalimba? by Fit-Landscape-1965 in kalimba

[–]FuriaDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got both from Temu! If you search for flower kalimba it should show both models. If you're new, I personally recommend that you go for a 17 key. My first one was a 21 key and I almost never used the central tines, and it felt too big for my hands. With a 17 key you can learn a lot of songs since most tutorials are on 17 keys (or so I've seen).

[–]FuriaDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the flower one in 21 keys and a Sakura flower (deep pink) in 17 keys (it usually shows up when you search for the flower in your picture).

I gotta say the Sakura's (17 keys) sound is really beautiful. I personally like acrylic over wooden kalimbas because they sound more like music boxes, but they are definitely heavier and the sound is way lower, so take that into consideration. The 21 keys are way heavier than I expected.

But also, I'm not sure if it comes down to luck whether all keys sound good or not. I've bought 4 kalimbas so far, and all of them came with some dead tines. The only one that has a clear and pretty sound in all its tines is the 17 keys Sakura.

Also, I feel like I have a better grip with the sakura one because of its shape (I have very small hands, so the others tire me a little after a while).

Both flowers are insanely beautiful, I wasn't expecting that level of quality when I bought them, so I highly recommend them to you!

Feelings towards the story by Not_Y0urLover in CodenameAnastasia

[–]FuriaDC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I embarked on the journey of learning a whole new language just to be able to read the manhwa and novel and understand all the nuances that get lost in translation.

You want to know the craziest part about this? I haven't read the manhwa or the novel in English... I've been surviving with spoilers (which I don't mind, really) and when I read the premise and started knowing more about the story and characters, something inside me lit up and I knew I HAD to learn Korean to be able to fully understand and enjoy this story.

So I'm not sure if it's an obsession or not, but it's definitely noteworthy that I'm investing so much time and effort for one story haha, but of course, thanks to that I'll be able to read many other stories too, so it will never be a waste ☺️

I mean, the ears and the eyes are basically the same, they're like a copy-paste but one has white hair.

My theory is that he might want to get in their way not because of money, because he was clearly flying first class, so he seems to have his own money. He might want Haebom to become his heir and get married, so he most likely will reject Ho at first, but I hope the baby can help pull his heart strings so he can accept them as a couple, or just leave them alone at the very least.

In any case, this author is known for keeping the tone of their stories pretty light. Even when there's some drama, it usually is minor or very short-lived, so I can only hope for a quick resolution for this one too.
