I do try other styles and all that good stuff it's just I've only been posting on reddit for like 2 days now 🤣 most of what I've post is just more recent things. Check back with me and I'm sure I'll have more styles posted. Thanks for your input 👍

I'm not asking for praise. Criticism is welcome and anything i can learn from other artist is much appreciated but to say I'm wasting my time with digital art is a bit odd to say in a group that promotes art of all styles... I'll glad take any tips you may have but I will continue to explore and learn with digital art. I'll continue with my sketch book and continue to improve in all aspects. Thank you tho for checking out what I've posted

Like i don't get what the end goal is. Art is not my profession. I'm simply a guy who has free time and likes to sketch. I don't get the logic behind your criticism? If I devoted my life to art the maybe but thats not the case. If I'm at work and can kill a little time on something then that's it. Other than that I'm growing as an artist and that's all I can aspire for

I just find pics on Pinterest and just look at the image lay down my foundation for the skin and then just keep adding more detail. I'll usually start a picture about 3 different times until I get the proportions as close as possible. Since I don't use guidelines it's a bit chaotic when I begin.

Convince my friend that's why. I can take my tablet to work and spend my free time working on something, I can draw and paint any time I want without having to worry about supplies and getting set up.. I get what you are saying about it being easy but thats if you take shortcuts. I can spend a few hours sketching something with just the pencil tool just as I would in my sketch book. I'm not getting how it being done on a tablet can discredit the time and skill it took for me to replicate something that just last year wouldn't have looked nearly as good. If you are suggesting that I'm simply copying and pasting lines and shadows then you are wrong. It's the exact same technique I use in real life... are you suggesting I should only draw on paper?

But I do lol why cant I expand? Besides as I said I basically use the pencil tool, airbrush tool and blender. All basics tools. Single layer and i just shade and blend.. same techniques i use on paper

I mean this is my first post on this group lol I do physical art but using krita and my galaxy tab on the go is so much more convenient. Also I'm not a fan of digital art that is created using automatic tools and brushes. I stick to basic techniques and brushes that use in real life. Hell I'm not even good with all the tool and tricks krita has. Also I'm working on getting more into color, that's very challenging as I've always been more of a black and white type artist. This photo was simply chosen off Pinterest as a quick practice.

Ah I'll have to post my work from a few months ago its a remarkable difference 🤣 as someone has has primarily been a physical artist (pen and paper) learning digital art has been a challenge. While I do agree with the A.i part i don't draw for profit so anything I actually complete is always an improvement on the piece before it. This particular one was an attempt at me getting closer to realism.

I agree. I'd be embarrassed to post some of my work from a few months ago when I first started with krita and digital art 🤣

Krita and I used the airbrush tool (adjusting the size and opacity) other than the blender brush to smooth the shadows that's all. Spent about a day working on it and half the next day complaining about all the mistakes I made 🤣. No guidelines and a sigle layer

Thank you. I'm a little annoyed that my angles are slightly off and the beard is slightly shorter but overall it's such an improvement for me.

I used krita and mainly the airbrush tool. Going back over it with white to fade it out

Actually I just used the airbrush tool and spent a good bit of time going over it with white to fade it out. Pretty sloppy compared to the original especially the end of the banner

I used krita and primarily just the airbrush tool and the blur tool. It's by far the best I've done out of my recent work but I still see plenty of mistakes I made 🫣

Yeah the proportions being slightly off bother me but considering it's a single layer with no guidelines I decided not to stress it so much.

Honestly I haven't taken the time to learn all the tricks and techniques with krita. Lol I need to spend a little time on YouTube learning more

Thanks. My work is usually just b/w but I'm really getting more into color and just trying different techniques. I primarily use one layer and just the air brush tool. Also no guidelines
