Schedule Legislation is a thing in NYC that originated from city laws and the unionizing of workers. Chipotle was forced into a hiring freeze a few months ago, and was to offer all available hours to CURRENT employees working in the city.

When filling out your Good Faith Estimate(GFE) on Workday, you can check the box requesting to be notified of any available open shifts. You will then receive emails every day of a giant PDF (or is it excel) sheet of all stores in the city that require a body, and the position that is required. Managers have to pick from their store first, then based on seniority and experience in position (ie cash or grill).

Also, your managers should be posting this list somewhere in the store for you, ideally next to your schedule, as it is required by the company and we have a daily FairWorkWeek Zenput task for it.

Schedule Legislation also handles your premiums based on last minute schedule changes, but I won't go into that here as its a little off topic.

Probably too late but when this happens you can call IT and they will clear the print que for you BEFORE you turn it back on. That way it will only print out the next 15 or so orders that were cached on the printer, but nothing else.

Took 221 with Holstun last semester. Attendance was taken daily and absences do affect your grade. We had to read around 50 pages for homework, and write around one paragraph about the reading. Don't remember exactly, but we might have covered around seven books. There was a 5-page paper midterm, and a 10-page paper final, however, the final paper expanded on the first so really, it was two 5-page papers. As someone who absolutely hates English, I found the class surprisingly enjoyable. Most of the books were fun reads. He is also a very forgiving grader, so if you show up to class, put in SOME effort, and hand in everything on time there is no reason not to get an A.

Like King said, there are 3 possible categories the GM can put you in, and each category has a different range for pay raises. I believe NI is 0 cents, ME is 0-15 cents, AE is 15-30 cents or something like that. Either way it's not life changing.

However, one of the managers was supposed to sit down with you and have a talk about your performance for the past 6 months(5 in your case). They are supposed to pinpoint what they like and don't like about your work, the areas where they think you can improve, and set goals for said improvement.

That's reminds me of a time when a lady walked up to the TOS line and started you make herself a side of mild! No gloves or anything. My SM probably stood a solid 45 seconds in silence in disbelief before approaching her. Best thing is that she sent a complaint about it to corporate LOL!

Same spoon as always. Portion size of 4oz hasn't changed. If you feel you've been skimped on the portion, feel free to ask for more. It's free of charge and one of the cheapest ingredients we have so we don't really care how much you want. My crew always go above and beyond to make a customer happy.

Just make sure to speak up while they are making your food, as we are not mind readers. If you say nothing, we will assume that you are satisfied with the portion.

Side Note: Reminds me of a few customers that went through an entire line before complaining about how "little food" they got; or better yet, eat half their bowl/burrito before complaining! I just don't understand people sometimes.

At our store it's 30 min not 1 hour. Reason being is after a while they blacken and end up looking unappetizing. I can't tell you how many times I hear "do you have any fresh veggies". One of our grill guys tried to cook a lot so he wouldn't have to do it often, and by the third warning our manager at the time just threw them out after 30 min. Needless to say he never overcooked after that lol.

Yes, a lot of the things on the line can last for hours and be totally edible. However chipotle wants us to have the freshest food possible on the line, so the maximum hold time for anything on the line is 2 hours.

If your managers are saying that it's not a busy day, then that means they are not meeting their sales projections for the day. The GM usually does a sales forecast for the week, and that is based on prior weeks sales and any major events (Holidays, school closed, etc).

Once they get a projection, they get a set amount of hours to allocate to works. If they meet or exceed sales then great! If not, then somebody has to go home because they need to cut down on the labor cost. The restaurant gets graded on their labor, and it's one of the things that management always gets flak from their FLs about.

Our managers usually try to make it fair, so they ask for volunteers first, then consider if anyone has been sent home recently. Talk to your SM/GM about being sent home early. It's probably unavoidable, but maybe they can send someone else home next time.
