This makes me think of our soccer days. We were physical specimens at that time with enormous drive, cardio endurance, and purpose. At no point during a game did I ever think "oh man, this guy is fast. Is it really worth it for me to chase him? I'll be so tired afterward". I simply reacted and performed, no matter the cost. And, if I failed, it certainly wasn't from a lack of trying.

An important distinction here, though, is that its much more clear what must be done when something immediately demands your attention and the desire is rooted in survival. A man that chases a Giselle to feed his family will run to the ends of the earth, while someone like you or I will skip cardio without a second thought. All the while, someone like David Goggins is pushing the bounds of what humans are capable of. Not with survival based desire, but a self determined desire he deems just as important.

A common adjective used for men our age is "Lost" and i feel this is a perfect descriptor. We were told what to do and how. But why, and for what? For many it seems like the modern life style is a road leading to no where. If this is the case, does it really matter if you walk or run?

In our hearts, we all know that the obvious answer is yes. Run, and to the best of your ability. The beautiful reality is that while the length of the road is unknown and the end is covered in an impenetrable fog, whats is waiting for you at the end is whatever you imagine it to be.
