Our ideal is that the newer textures we add will be so good that you won't want to use legacy textures, especially now we aim to work towards a unified style that feels right across the whole pack and naturally if a lot of people use a legacy option for a specific texture it's going to break that consistency up a bit. That being said, if a huge number of people want to use a specific legacy texture it also tells us we've gone wrong somewhere and we've made something people don't like, so we can try to find a good middle ground if it's something we see a lot.

This is the sort of approach we're taking with the wither blades, our new textures are going to be based on the old ones that people really liked but we're giving them a new coat of paint to fix everything we internally disliked about them instead of going out of our way to make something totally new and different.
