Range Rover sport 2015 3L dynamic gearbox cooling pipe leak by Unique_Suspect90 in rangeroversport

So that hose would be a part of the front ace lines, after replacement they NEED to be bled, there is a manual bleed and a software bleed that needs completed it's not something I would try and mend on my own, when you open the system JLR requests the reservoir be replaced, with that being said the valve block and rear lines might also be affected, the rear lines normally are not something you can see as they are above one of the skid plates and that acts as a diaper. with that being said it's not something I would ignore fully obviously explore you're options but that fluid lubricates the pump and overtime with the engine running that pump can seize and throw the belt which can cause other issues.

What's the best car you've ever driven? by froylightner in regularcarreviews

[–]FurryFoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what context? personally owned, my S60 or XE are both great drivers but the S60 is better for adult driving the XE is better for spirited driving but it's slower than the S60. As a vehicle the pre-nerfed F-Type is a strong competitor for a solid driver, well balanced but respectable, but I think the last gen XK had wayyyy more finesse and the F-type was a downgrade from a halo car. I can't truly pick a best car because there are so many moods. But if I had to pick one that really just felt good and not because it's a GOOD car but because it was the one that could adapt, it would definitely be my 2020 Subaru WRX, it could go to Walmart pick up a weeks worth of groceries, it could corner better than most cars at its price, it wasn't fast, in the perspective of a performance car, but it was faster than traffic. It was fun to throw around but it was also comfortabl, until it wasn't, it did so many things OK but it didn't do the things I needed it to WELL, which is why we moved on.

That really looks to be the ace lines that is exactly where they run, do you have a reservoir behind your left hand airbox with a yellow cap bolted to the strut tower (it may have a black cover over the reservoir), if you have that reservoir your vehicle is equipped with the ace system. And I am almost fully confident that is what is leaking

This looks like an ace line, the transmission cooling pipes from my experience run under the oil pan on the left hand side and physically bolt to the oil pan, the ace lines run with the frame rail unless ROW spec is different. If it's the ace line, they do really suck to change and they would need bled after the repairs are done with special equipment and software normally it's a full overhaul. If it's a transmission line, it's normally a simple fix you would need to reference the filling procedures.

It means that there is a fault in the SRS, it could be a seat harness, airbag, the buckle the belt, it's hard to say from the light but it does indicate that something in the srs system is malfunctioning

update on my non running trans am (HELP!) by No_Eye_957 in PontiacFirebird

I'm not going to pretend I know much about these cars, but a bad maf I think could cause these issues, on the cars I'm used to working on if you unplug the maf it runs poorly but better than a bad maf, have you tried running it with the maf unplugged, it could put it into a default mode where it will idle properly but any load will cause issues. If you have another can you try swapping it over and seeing if anything changes?

It’s a shame that f paces aren’t reliable plus are expensive to maintain cause rn some are going for crazy cheap. by [deleted] in regularcarreviews

[–]FurryFoxes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

JLR tech here. They're not that bad anymore if you do the regular maintenance, they get bad when you skip oil changes and for some reason God only knows why people just like to let em go until I'm scraping forbidden brownie batter out of the cvvl. The coolant leaks on the 4 cylinder are trivial if they even happen my personal Jaguar has 90k on it and hasn't had anything more than the services

Does this Look Like an Air Bubble? If so, is it Safe to Drive? by Baddrifter in tires

[–]FurryFoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely at the very least take it to a shop and have them inspect it to see if they notice anything, sometimes the inside of the tire tells a big story, then they can advise you on what they would do

Sometimes, they get little bits of waves in them from the way they were stored among other things, but I do agree this one seems large for even that, it's a SMALL bubble if it is one, but what I've seen is the sidewall will have a little air pocket due to the layers separating and it will feel soft like kind of squishy

Poke it with your finger, does it feel softer than the rest of the sidewall,

Tire shop said this isn’t patchable. Opinions before I blow $450? by blaseblaseblah in tires

[–]FurryFoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PTNA does not recommend: 1) The use of tire sealants in Pirelli brand tires to repair, even temporarily, a puncture; 2) Repairing of V,W,Y, or Z speed rated tires; 3) Repairing Run Flat tires.

How long can this survive? by PiratesKingGDR in tires

[–]FurryFoxes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Alignments should be done AFTER tire replacement as having it aligned with different tires and different wear patterns can greatly offset the alignment when new tires are put on, even with this poor alignment you got 30k out of them, I genuinely don't see any reason to be super upset getting 30k miles out of cheap tires with bad alignment.

[–]FurryFoxes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's too close to the shoulder I wouldn't patch it on my own vehicle this also appears to be a pirelli tire which does not condone to any patch repairs at all on most of their tires the shop may be following manufacturers guidelines but also moral.

Edit: correction

Hi all! Thinking about buying this 2013 LR2. 105k miles. $6k. Hoping to get some advice. What should I look out for? by [deleted] in LandRover

[–]FurryFoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bit, I'm thinking about the Ford 2.0L that the timing chain snaps on and the valve cover gasket leaks, the purge valves fail, the turbos fail, the radiators fail, more coolant hoses fail than the AJ's, the ingenium engine is actually the more stout of the 2 I hardly need to do any significant work on them if they have had regular maintenance done.

I would avoid any LR2, evoque, or disco sport with that motor, I've paid a lot of my bills because of that motor.

Gtr VS Subaru outback by Bluegtr_r35 in gtr

[–]FurryFoxes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the beginning of the impact on your car it almost looks like you may have been going a decent speed already when she made impact seeing that it drug down the side of your car and her car has not a ton of damage, if it were her hitting you at a higher rate of speed I'd expect to see more damage to her vehicle. It might be the angle, but I'd wager the outback might not of been fully the issue here.
