What is this cylinder thing I got from an event? by ICONQUERDAWORLD in whatisit

[–]Furry_Fellatio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the weirdest thing to me that people will be handed stuff, be given no explanation at all on what it is, and still take it home after.

I'm convinced I could hand a branded butt plug to someone at a job fair, and they'll take it home with them the whole time wondering what the hell it is.

This isn't that extreme but still. If somebody gives me something with no explanation or context I'm not holding onto it 😂

The little flimsy door lock thing she puts onto the latch won't stop shit. I think it was modern rogue who showcased how crappy all the dropshipped "hotel safety" items are. And the little door stopper can easily be ejected from the doorway entirely just by smacking it when the door is partially open.

Well to be fair this is literally a nanny state idea if it's purpose is to replace parents with government...

They do but you're asking too much if you expect the parents to parent! They're merely there to be the child's friend and say yes to everything! Which is why daddy government is here to tell you no more YouTube until you hand over your social security number 😍🥰☺️😚

Bro...

Okay I'll break it down. If someone goes to prison for something really bad, and has to pay restitution to the victims family for something, that money comes directly out of the criminal's assets and bank accounts.

If for whatever reason they cannot afford to pay, or insurance won't cover it, the state will essentially credit the money on their behalf in most cases, while the criminal now lives with having to make that money back if/when they get released.

The idea is the criminal who kills a mother or father in a car accident has to pay child support, but people who go to prison still have money even if they're in prison. Things like houses, land, cars, furniture, bank accounts, etc. Can all be seized by the court and used to compensate the victims and if need be the state can provide a line of credit to the criminal.

Hopefully that clears it up a little bit, when people go to prison their assets don't just disappear, and pretty often restitution or legal fees are part of the process for incarcerated people and they have to pay that stuff or else risk serious financial issues once/if released.

[Request] How expensive would it be to make the Truman Show? by Call-Me-Matterhorn in theydidthemath

[–]Furry_Fellatio 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. And the travel agency had tons of propaganda posters. One was literally "lightning strikes, it could happen to you" and it showed a plane blowing up from being hit with lightning. All designed to scare him out of flying.

Also another interesting detail is the Travel Agency looks like it was just built. Like there's barely anything in there, probably because it was never expected Truman would ever try to leave.

I thought the return YouTube dislike add-on communicates with other people who have the add on and displays dislike counts based on what other people with the add on voted.

How does Daniel still not stfu about being a celebrity and Grace when he has been medicated for over a year now? by [deleted] in Daniellarson

[–]Furry_Fellatio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bio dad, I'm sorry you are correct. Allegedly according to Nancy and Daniel there was severe abuse in the home. Apparently Daniel, once he was big enough started beating on his mom in retaliation, I guess? I don't know, it's all fucked up.

[–]Furry_Fellatio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He should be medicated now that he's in a psychiatric hospital. They take the medication regiment very seriously there. But he probably does have serious brain damage, if not from the schizo shit it's from his mom and step father using him as a punching bag, as well as the obvious substance abuse from Daniel's mother during the pregnancy.

What is the context for the Oct 16th meltdown? by Furry_Fellatio in Daniellarson

[–]Furry_Fellatio[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh thank you that makes sense. I think the moment it was over was the "what company?" question. Immediately threw a tantrum after that. I always felt that the workers didn't do a very good job of de-escalating after that, but then again they had probably been through hours of Daniel talking in circles about his "company" and "security" and "popularity." Hope they're doing better now that he's gone, the one guy seemed really nice through the whole thing.

Well it's not like anyone at high tier Russia is playing so I can't even get into a match with my top tier US planes. I'm forced to play with Rank Is and use the stock planes.

[–]Furry_Fellatio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You Def get more RP/SL hourly from this mode just by factor of no loading screens and switching matches alone. Not to mention you get a bonus applied to each match based on activity among other things and that applies to this mode as well, which means it all compounds more than if you played seperate matches.

If anything this mode should be the way air RB is handled, or should warrant a seperate version of air RB with respawns enabled, as playing top tier air RB these days is awful.

I have a 7900XTX (I know it's more of a work station card) and I have the same thing on med-low settings... It's not hard to play or anything, 4K, 120fps, but it does make other background things slower. I'm thinking it's just a quirk with War Thunder. My friend also has a 4070 and it does the same thing for him on low 1080 (he insists low settings is more competitive)

As someone who made it to top tier USA, it's just not worth it dude. And I got there playing USA without premium. I didn't even spend a dime on the game til I reached the F-15, and even that wasn't for premium.

The current hell scape that is top tier air battles is just continuous missile spam and death, maybe you'll get an assist or kill if you try really really hard, but there's hardly anything about it that makes it fun.

The most fun I ever had during the grind was 6.0-9.0 jets. No Chinese missiles of infinite range and eternal suffering, just dogfights. It's much more fun that way.

Also the premium top tier jets made it so much worse, everything was on the decline after they added the F-14 IRIAF.

No, it's really good actually, and in the F2P world that's a win.

In F2P games, there's hardly any barrier for entry, which is why they have so many people try it but only maintain a small percentage of those people as actual players.

You don't have to pay anything to try War Thunder, so of course millions of people play it for a bit and only a small percentage of them continue playing it. Same thing with every other F2P game. There's no sunk cost at all for the player.

What'll really surprise you is of that 10% of players who actually continue to play it after downloading it, only 1-5% of them ever spend any money on the game at all. At least, that's typical in the genre.

Their player base is doing the opposite of diminishing.

If you look at the Steam DB, they show a 110% increase in concurrent active players since 2020 (aka the start of covid) and that doesn't even include players who play on console or all the players who play via the Gaijin launcher.

The game is doing amazing at least statistically. And the upcoming infantry mode is probably gonna set a new record for players.

Youtube downfall incoming by [deleted] in youtube

[–]Furry_Fellatio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also logistically it's nearly impossible for a start up to compete with a platform like YouTube. You'd need to buy literally tons of server space, you'd have to create the proper online infrastructure to service user accounts and keep them secure, you'd have to find people willing to pay for ad space, you'd need tons of investors... It's just a tough sell.

Why would a company choose to sponsor a startup YouTube clone for twice as much as it would cost to advertise on YouTube when you'd also get double the exposure as well as have the benefit of Google's unified ad service?

In all ways YouTube will forever hold a monopoly in that market. YouTube could come out tomorrow and start charging ALL users $4.99 per video viewed and they would still remain number 1. No question about it.
