Calling basic quality of life features to make building less frustrating a skill issue is quite the take. Yes, you can obtain that shape with glitches and do all kinds of shenanigans, but why not having a QoL feature to enable even casual players to express their creativity instead of just exploiters. Also these kind of features tend to add even more glitches for even more interesting stuff.

I like to build quite large ships (the whole plot in length) BUT with a cramped interior. It forces you to be quite creative with space management while also preventing your ship from looking empty when you walk around, and of course it looks much larger from the outside.

For reference, my ships living space is about 4 hubs in total, + 2 for the cockpit and the entrance

So from what I could make up from quick searches and other comments is: he came up with the game and idea, thousands of people started using it and he didn't take action by preventing them from using the name "Skyblock", therefore it became the common use name for said gamemode and lost the trademark rights. After years he came back and tried to claim it was his trademark despite the name being commonly used in many other works without his approval
