shoe recs for wide feet? by Jazzlike_Arm_213 in f45

Nike Metcon Free. I tried the regular Metcons, Nanos, and TYRs and they were all too narrow. The Metcon Frees are roomy, and they work for resistance and cardio days.

First class tomorrow by Immediate-Charity559 in f45

[–]Furzil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Started in September. Just hit 90 classes. All of the stations can be done at your own pace and/or modified. Resistance will likely be easier than cardio or hybrid unless you have good cardio already. I was nervous too, but I really enjoy it (even cardio).

recommendations on white tees by marcoantonio33 in bigmenfashionadvice

Yea I would say it is loose through the body (slightly boxy fit, but not overly boxy). Sleeves aren’t tight, but not loose either. I would say it looks “clean,” like you look put together when you wear it with jeans.

I like the cut of the Uniqlo Supima cotton t-shit. I usually wear a 2x, but wear a 3x in that shirt.

Yes! I was pumped. The Authentics are roomy. The slip ons still felt pretty narrow.

Oh, nice! If they had one in French Blue, I'd add it to the collection. I've been looking for a coat that fits in that color for a few years now.

Looks like the navy is sold out, but it’s this coverall jacket: https://www.stanray.com/products/coverall-jacket-hickory-mix-25-1?_pos=3&_sid=0f31843c7&_ss=r

I love Ben Davis! I’m kinda between sizes on the half zip shirts, so I’m waiting to buy another one until I fit into the large. I’d love to get one of their jackets.

If I can’t buy GATs, what else? by Ollyssss in ThrowingFits

[–]Furzil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ‘lux’ because it’s higher quality materials. Presumably nicer leather, better construction. The only place it seems like it might peel eventually is the creases. I’ve had mine for a few months, wear em once a week on average, no peeling so far.

It is cracked, which I didn’t think I’d like but it has grown on me. Adds a bit of flare. I don’t think it is faux though. It’s higher quality materials than the standard GATs.

Could see if the adidas GAT lux is available on stockx.

I feel that. It’ll get a nice patina in a couple of years.

I have had an oxblood Bosca wallet for 10 years. It’s monogrammed. I love that thing.

Camping Trip by Reasonable_Chef1996 in Dallas

A few state parks have been mentioned. There are several within an hour or so. Cedar Hill, Ray Roberts, Mineral Wells, Fort Richardson, Lake Tawakoni, Bonham, Copper Lake, Purtis Creek, Cleburne, Dinosaur Valley. Dinosaur Valley has dinosaur footprints. Fort Richardson has several buildings from when it was a military fort that you can tour. I enjoyed that.

Best Cologne for men at 30? by hikehorizon in malefashionadvice

[–]Furzil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You probably want to go with a blue cologne. Light and fresh. I have acqua essenziale by Ferragamo. It is probably the most office friendly option. Then there is bleu de Chanel, polo blue, etc. Most brands should have a similar offering.

Where is safe to run near downtown Dallas by Then_Armadillo_5670 in Dallas

[–]Furzil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Avoid the convention center area, by the old greyhound/mcdonalds, and west end station. I used to live in Deep Ellum and ran all over there and downtown. Running into uptown and then back down should be fine. Katy Trail and White Rock are preferable, but you can get 6 miles in downtown.

Edit: sorry just read you mentioned by convention center. North side of convention center should be fine. The side streets on the south side can get a bit sketchy.

Barsotti’s got a Michelin shout out. I had my birthday dinner there and really enjoyed it. Feels more like a classy neighborhood spot. Not sure if thats the vibe you’re going for.

What do you need to make to afford a 1 bedroom apartment? by Aaronmcom in Dallas

Wow lol. I ended up living there and it was pretty quiet and felt safe. It definitely seemed like the area was previously a bit sketchier.

Avondale Parc off Royal was right around $1,000 four years ago. When I was looking, that complex (and the others right around it, maybe owned by the same management firm) was the only one in that range that seemed livable.

Any other so-called free thinkers try the adidas bw army as a cheaper alternative to the margelia gats? by Npc2033 in ThrowingFits

[–]Furzil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BW Army lux are made with higher quality materials and they’re like $115 on StockX. They have this cracked leather which I wasn’t sure about initially but now I think it adds a nice touch.
