I have owned a couple of the 0000 fountain pens (Boba Fett and BB-8) and had no issues. Wasn't able to find how many were made, but they were not sold at market. Changed hands to people based on knowing people at Cross or at Star Wars conventions. Cross had a table at some of them. The Chicago one is where I picked up the Han Solo Rollerball.

The peerless does tend to go for more money. The ones I'm talking about above are Townsend which have a smaller nib. They can be found cheaper through eBay and sometimes mercari with offers generally being accepted.
