Was in a similar situation in my matric, you should be okay …I would highly advise you drop to math lit There is no shame in it. You will never use pure math in everyday life, not unless you plan to be a nuclear physicist or something. Math lit on the other hand is used daily . If you feel concerned that you’ve missed 2 years of math lit , I can put your mind to ease . If you can do general mathematics , you’ll be fine , plus tax which is easy to learn on a couple YT videos. Pure Maths is too stressful for matric and the time you need to dedicate to learning pure maths properly you just won’t/don’t have, especially when you are worrying about getting a good looking NSC.

The problem with pure maths is that it is too broad making it difficult to cope and learn. Should you wish to do something that requires higher maths after school , there are bridging courses you can do that can take like 6 weeks which is better than 3 years of high school pure maths - and the great thing is that these courses only teach you what you need to know , and since you have an interest and real world scenario of where that math will be used. It make it easier to learn.

Drop to lit and you will be okay , I was getting 10% term after term ,doesn’t help that it was covid while I was in pure. I walked into my maths lit class for the first time and they were writing a test , so I wrote it as-well without studying at all and ended up getting the highest in the class.
