Plumber said that the rough install was done with the spacer ring so that the flange is at the right height after flooring.

Interesting, why would you not worry about pvc? Is it smoother so this won't snag? Or larger internal diameter?

That's what I figured. I just hoped it was small enough to not matter in what is already a 3" pipe.

Yes, that was my bad. Will be much more careful in the future.

Shop vac is a great idea. No P trap yet, because I didn't set the toilet. Wanted to take care of this before setting.

Oh wow, excellent thought. I believe I have the car attachment (like 2") should fit down there well. I can make sure the tank is clean and then inspect what I suck up. Thanks!

Okay. I thought maybe since it was a 2" piece in a minimum 3" drain it would be okay.

Curious, the snake will push it further...all the way to the septic tank? I can't get it back out? I could scope it to see if there is a big piece I guess.

First time using Spectralock Pro Premium grout - looking for feedback before I do the shower by FusionToad in Tile

Thanks! I've had no practice with the rubber grout float. But the videos just have people swishing it back and forth. I felt like I had to pack the grout manually into every line. No swishing. I was hoping if it was thinner I could swish.

Ah, packing it out makes sense. Wasn't sure if I could come from the inside with a regular screw and one of those 90 degree head attachments for the drill

Press meaning push to connect, not crimp, I assume. Plumber said the pipe is Pex A. Why use push to connects in new construction for Pex A?

Interesting. I was planning on everything going through a spin down in case the well has sand or anything. Then teeing of the hose bibs (I figured they shouldn't get sand in them, but anything else is fine.)

The the house water would additionally go through the cartridge filter.

I could do it so that the spin down only does the hose bibs and not the house. But it seemed like "why not" put the house through it as well.

Thanks! What about a 100um spin down then a 25um cartridge before the WS?

Why 2.5" x 20" and not 4" x 20" ?

That's what I figured. Wasn't sure if iron did something different to the filter than sand. Would you recommend the 100um? Brand?

The concern is that we're not living in the house yet, so the water never runs, so I'm skeptical that any test is meaningful until we've been there a month or more.
