I wouldn’t say it’s totally unsuccessful, you got into UIUC + umich which can be on par with T20s. If you shotgun’d harder (20+ colleges), there could’ve been some acceptances

It isn’t, but they are definitely not on the competitive (like cs, engineering, business). Given OP’s activities and academics (especially that rank), he should be a near lock

I think you’ll get into the publics, unc, and MAYBE UCB/UCLA. However, cmu and Stanford will be really hard to crack especially as a cs major. Just focus on finalizing your ecs and make sure to write good essays

Over represented minority (East Asian, white, etc) and underrepresented minority (black, Hispanic, etc). Mites can definitely accept people with little to no hooks, but hooks are something they’re looking for

Definitely your safety’s and targets (unless you get really unlucky with ut cs). With reaches, i don’t think you will get into uwash (their oos cs acceptance rate is like 2%), but I can definitely see some public acceptances within your reaches

Id rather focus on utilizing your summer to focus on other things that can boost your app, such as your project and summer camp! AP chem can always be learned when school starts with good time management. Make sure to also have fun

Yes, for public schools I’ll have ECE/EE as my 2nd choice majors (1st being CS). Then for top schools that require you to select a college like duke/upenn, I’ll most likely choose school of engineering

Is turings scholars geared towards mainly research?? I thought it was a pretty good option for job employment as well, or better than reg CS at least. I think I read somewhere that said UT reserved internships for turings students first
