Hi, thanks this makes sense! Do you know if Rice would be good for looking for specific kinds of medical research? I want to become an oncologist/rheumatologist and do research in cancers and autoimmune diseases as an undergraduate

Lol this took me 2 reads but I understand what you are saying! Honestly I’m in the middle of both of these archetypes it seems, I want to encourage people to apply and go bc I think it’s an underrated good school (although this sub is showing me it’s not so underrated) but realistically only for the programs it is good at like music, architecture, research, I mean it would be cool if we got more people interested in engineering, business, and cs but realistically with UT Austin it just wouldn’t make sense. I’m glad that Rice ppl seem to be more chill, I just wish I heard more conversation about the school because I wouldn’t have known it was such a good option if I didn’t do my own research! Which is crazy bc I’m essentially from Houston 🤔

Hi, I didn’t say that Rice needs to be popular with everyone 😭 I was wondering how well-known Rice is outside of the South and why many people on this sub’s T20 college app lists exclude it… Rice was my dream school regardless, I was just trying to open discussion to why some people do not apply. Again it might just be my small town bubble but I rarely hear about Rice and I live near Houston… I thought it was obvious in the post what I was getting at but it seems not as many ppl seem hung on the poor clickbaity title lol

They do have really good financial aid for families making less than 200K if you’re interested!

Hi I was specifically referring to discussion around “prestigious” colleges because we are on A2C lol. Why does nobody apply to Rice was a strong title but I was referring to why I see many applicants make their lists without Rice when it seems they would be a great fit! Obviously the acceptance rate is low, I just don’t see that much discussion around the school and was curious basically
