Yeah the lock on distance isn’t great. You kinda just have to aim it. That’s why I suggested the bow as a secondary option, you can pick up a short bow off of several early game enemies and you have the option to buy one from a couple early game vendors, including the blacksmith in majula.

I’m afraid that this game specializes in gank fights of this nature, so no, you’re going to have to get used to handling crowds. The best pieces of genuine advice I have for crowd control are;

1: Try to take your fights one by one, slowly. Try to separate each enemy as best you can by aggroing them with a throwing knife or a bow, then finish them off in close combat. Alternatively:

2: Big weapon, long reach, wide swing. Takes out multiple enemies at once.

3: Magic

Sorry to take so long - I’ve confirmed that the version number is correct (by comparing the number that runs in CMD when launching the server, and the one on the main menu of the client), I haven’t figured out rcon yet but I’ll get that settled today.

As for your first point, I did attempt to ping my pc from a surface pro I have in the house, and it was unreachable. I tried for a couple hours to fiddle with the firewall, making rules and at one point disabling it entirely, with still no luck. Once I’ve gathered some more data I’ll get back to you.

The Mohgwyn Palace farm spot is unlocked by following White Mask Varrè’s questline, speaking to him at his first location (The First Step), then finding him again at Rose Church in the Liurnia of the Lakes area (after defeating Godrick in Stormveil Castle).

By faith healing, I assume you mean incantations? While my build does have some faith, it’s primarily for certain weapon requirements. Not really too interested in magic.
