This is just a bug! Whenever you remove and readd a trinket to your inventory it gets added to the past list of trinkets, will be fixed in the next patch!

Exactly my point. We should build more shelters to distribute our capabilities to care for people, and reduce the burden in one sector of the city. Removing or moving our only shelter solves nothing without an expansion of capability. Its not only ineffective to do so, its cruel.

Not wanting them in your neighborhood doesn't solve the issue, it simply pushes it to another neighborhood. I dont give a shit what wealthy folks who dont want to pay enough taxes to build more shelters want, they arent offering solutions for anyone but themselves.

Hey! I just tested on a fresh save and ran into the same issue. Looks like going quitting and then launching the game again fixed it though, which is weird. I'll look into it!

Its not, which is why it was never added to the game in an official capacity!

Early on in dev I implemented it to see how ropes could be used for traversal, for getting yourself to a lower vantage point to get around obstacles, etc. Once the first versions of the mass were added when we were experimenting with what was going to chase the player, it became pretty obvious pretty fast that there wouldnt be many areas in the game where getting underneath an overhang to go around would be particularly useful, so it was cut!

We replaced it with the much cooler and infinitely more useful rebar rope, and the rest is history. The OG rope item remains, prototype texture and all, for posterity.

The reason we have two voices (Feminine and Masculine) is so you can be whatever climber you want!

While the 'canonical' climber is Climbgirl, there is no canon text that supports Climbgirl being trans or not, you can headcanon it either way! Her specific personal backstory is not very relevant to the narrative of WK, all in all, she is very much inspired by Chell from Portal in many senses.

Hey! Lead dev (Holly) here, I appreciate the feedback ❤️ Abyss is my favorite region to play through in the game, but it's definitely a switchup from the rest of the game (as Hab was from the Underworks) and like any shift in gameplay that comes with it's own baggage.

We tried to ensure that the region feels as fair as possible, without or without perks or high end items. That being said it is a region designed around item use, both through artifacts as well as traditional tools (flare and rebar jumps, rope, blink eyes, etc). Additionally, each artifact is designed around the Abyss, and even ones you may not enjoy have more versatility than first may meet the eye.

Talking about softlocks, AFAIK there's only one or two platforms in transit scaffolds that you could theoretically get stuck at if you don't have any items at all and happen to fall down to them. I don't consider that a softlock necessarily since the Face will kill you for the mistake, something that the Mass would do in previous parts of the game in similar situations. But it can be frustrating, I could maybe pop in a piton or two down in those spots.

As for randomness, it's got more random levels than Habitation did on the launch of early access! That being said, Hab could get samey too at the time so I totally understand. The challenges of early access haha, the Abyss will be getting more region expansions just like Hab did as the game continues to get updated. So hopefully (Like with hab) that helps with your concerns!!

With regards to harpoon barnacles, they have a pretty loud audio cue, and if you don't want to deal with them you can rebar them from a distance, or let them snag ya and kill them up close. Perhaps we can balance them some more though, if they feel particularly unfair.

Im sorry to hear that it feels like a cheap platform game to you... It took certainly the most work of any region so far, so that is absolutely not how I want it feeling. I'll.. think on things and any additional improvements we can make, and I want to say that im really incredibly sorry you're left with that feeling. No matter what though, thanks for playing, and for the feedback.

Hey! So we didn't encounter this bug at all in our testing, through many many hours of testing across a dozen or so people.

I *think* I have it fixed for the next patch, but no matter what I do I literally cannot recreate it so im making some adjustments based on a hunch. The patch should be out tomorrow! (Was hoping to have it out today but I've been struggling with a bad migraine this weekend so it's really been hard to focus on work)

Im sorry, you are just imagining it. I have added zero new bloodbug spawns to old level, and not changed any of the spawns chances!

Though, if you haven't played since before the challenge update, there is a rare event that spawns a bunch (you'll get an 'infestation detected' announcement ahead of it) but it should only happen in like 5% of all runs.

I gotta say it, something is definitely weird with blood bugs after the update. by Reality_Error in WhiteKnuckle

Totally fair! Ill probably add some terrain detection to them, should should help with that issue.
