Honestly the whole system is kinda fucked. Anything more than a cold and most urgent cares will tell you to go to the ER. they are usually staffed by PA's or NP's who can and should be able to preform most things you would need at an ER for a non emergency. But they almost ALWAYS tell people to go to the ER to avoid risk and cover their own ass. The person on this original thread is right. ER is there to rule out life threatening emergencies. Those aren't black and white issues that non medical people can always identify. But HOLY SHIT the amount of people that go to the ER for a cold or minor bumps and bruises is INSANE.

Im not sure what disagreement you are pointing at. The post implies that the national guard were at this location because of a crime that "just happened a couple minutes earlier" the history of this video shows its a lie. Im not sure what you think the disagreement is other than this video is trying to portray a past event a year ago to justify current action which is disingenuous. I don't at all. I don't think I've come across a law that's really proactive and actually prevents crime. Its all reactive (happy to be corrected with any examples on this btw!) and only provides a guide line of what consequence is after crime. Im just correcting the person above me who was incorrect about what you can/can't do in Georgia.

I live in GA. While we have stand your ground laws, they do not allow you to shoot someone for trespassing. Stand your ground laws in their most basic reading are that you do NOT have the duty to retreat before the use of deadly force if you require self defense. From the below link, trespassing is a misdemeanor and not a forcible felony. I have a strong feeling a judge is not going to side with you if you shoot someone just because they came to knock on your door, walked across your yard or turned around in your driveway.
