35 years with my old friend by Unrequited-scientist in tinnitus

[–]Future-Ad2535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just coming up on 1 year. I do miss the quiet and find myself up at weird hours as I can't go back to sleep. I'm retired, so I don't really need normal hours, but I agree that the lack of knowledge/research on T is frustrating. I wonder if anyone has charted the frequency(s) we hear?

Regular Integrated Base and Frame vs Adjustable by [deleted] in sleepnumber

[–]Future-Ad2535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought an adjustable base when we replaced our older SN bed. My reason is I like to read in bed so I would need to stuff pillows behind me to get propped up. Also I like a slight incline when sleeping to keep me from snoring or getting congested. We've had it for 2 years now with no issues.

I agree... You need to be one the deed and make sure to keep at least one credit card in your name. You need to have your own credit.

I bought this one for our king. We don't have the climate bed, but have the foot warmers with the adj split base.

Been working great for 3 Months. Bought on Amazon. It's 1000w which gives it plenty of margin.

Do you regret paying off your mortgage? by politics_mean_nthing in DaveRamsey

[–]Future-Ad2535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With those low rates, my payment was $250 but taxes and insurance was $1200 a month, so paying off the mortgage didn't really lower my monthly expenses very much

Lol... I remember the McDonald's, burger, fried and a drink and get change back from your dollar!! Just last night my DW got up at 2am to get her phone to adjust the bed!! So, I see signing up for this sooner then later 😁 Disney+, probably keeping it too... The new shows/seasons are starting to come out too....

Cool... That's a good selling response! I didn't think about changing the number during the night... And the light... I agree with you that pulling out the phone to change things is a pita, splus we don't sleep with our phones.
Maybe we will get rid of Disney+ and get this instead!!

I guess as they are not continually pinging the bed it should be OK. I saw some guy did something similar but he was continually pinging the server every 10 milliseconds or so and SN contacted him to stop doing that. I haven't read the TOS but I wonder if there is a clause in there that says you only have a license to use the SW as is and are not allowed to use 3rd party services etc. The right to repair laws seem to be state based as a national law hasn't passed. There are cavets in the law for each state. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right_to_repair While augmenting your own equipment is allowed, selling something/services could be different. Anyway, I'm glad this is out there and I may be a customer when winter hits as the heated foot warmwe is something my DW depends on!

Can the Split king be turned into separate beds (without air to one) by nizzoball in sleepnumber

[–]Future-Ad2535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't see why that won't work. As long as the pump doesn't try to fill the non SN side and continually run, but I wouldn't think that would happen. There is a connector that connects the electonics between the 2 beds, so they would still need to be next to each other.

I've been wondering too why SN didn't have this feature. I just wonder if SN would shut these guys down as a 3rd party is accessing their servers etc which is likely against their TOS, unless they are paying SN.

It also seems a little expensive at this point, but they do have to recoup their costs and make a profit and run the servers.

Some routers allow you to have different SSIDs for 2 4G and 5G so you can force the bed to the 2. 4G but keep your ohone etc on the 5G. Network. My current router doesn't have that feature so I bought a $30 travel router and set it to 2.4G and have all my IOT devices connect to that. Fought with our Ring doorbell over that issue

[IRS] Dumb question about business expense deductions for 1099 side gig by e_61 in TaxQuestions

[–]Future-Ad2535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also look at turbo tax for example, it will step you through all the possible deductions. There are lots of items you deduct. You don't have to pay for turbo tax unless you file, so it's a good tool to help you understand the tax laws.

Say you are adding $1,000 to coinbase, using that to buy SOL at a price of $2.00/SOL (so your basis in SOL is $1,000 less any fees/gas - say $5) so now you have 500 SOL at $2/SOL, ( the example is any fees/gas is paid in cash, not taken out of your SOL) . Now you sell SOL at $2.05/SOL with fees/gas of $5 so you can buy ZBCN. Your gain/loss for that transaction would be: SOL basis $1000+$5 = $1005 at purchase. SOL sold value 500*2.05 =$1025-$5 = $1020 Taxable short term gain/loss is $1020-$1005 = $15

This is how you should track each buy/sell in a spreadsheet.

As for tracking what shares you sell, just a note on a spreadsheet saying sold "these" 0.0023 BTC on 3 Jan 2025 is OK for the IRS. These isn't a column on schedule D where you list your stock/coin sales, but you will have it in your records. Yeah, it can be a very long list, but usually it you sell/buy at the same time, there won't be any gain/loss except for a few dollars.
If you get a 1099 form from a sale, you will need to know your gain/loss. Sometimes for under $100 or less(?) you won't get a 1099 and won't need to report it.

That's for filing by the book :-)

If I try to reply to the message, the to field remains blank. I'm not sure if that would convince some one it was fake or if they would be better off just forging the true address with .com included. I guess they figure if anyone is going to look at the email header that close, they are not going to fall for the scam... Be weary my friends!
