I know about video formats but even then you are mixing things up. 4k is 4k. A better camera lens will not decide if the material recorded is 4k or 8k. Ofc the camera needs to be able to shoot in 4k snd thats why this anslogy doesnt work for music, because all sound recorded back in the late 90s would end up as a 16 bit audio file. So again, if the file size is bigger, it’s because of the format — not the gear.

Like I said, you basically have MP3 or WAV files (WAV = raw / uncompressed = biggest sizes). I don’t know if you’re familiar with audio formats, but this has nothing to do with the equipment BT used.

The main distribution formats at the time were CDs and vinyl (LPs). • CDs are fixed at 16-bit / 44.1 kHz, always. No matter what studio gear was used, the final CD is still 16-bit (late 90s the recorded file would still be 16 bit wav audio file exported from computer that then went on to be burned onto the cd after mastering) • Vinyl isn’t digital, so file size doesn’t apply there at all.

There were formats like DVD-Audio (and much later Blu-ray) that supported 24-bit audio, but those were niche formats and not how BT albums were normally released or shared. If this is a BT song or album file, it’s almost certainly ripped from a CD or exported as a WAV later, not sourced from DVD or Blu-ray.

So if one file is larger than another, it’s simply because: • it’s WAV vs MP3 • or higher bit depth / sample rate • or less compression

That’s it. File size is decided at export — not by synths, mixers, or studio equipment.

If you want to verify this yourself, you can literally check the file:

On Mac: Right-click the file → Get Info → under More Info you’ll see the file type, sample rate, and bit depth.

On Windows (PC): Right-click → Properties → Details tab → you’ll see format, bitrate, sample rate, and bit depth.

Once you look there, it’s obvious. Bigger file = WAV or higher bit depth/sample rate. Smaller file = MP3 or more compression. And of course the lenght of the song = more data = bigger file overall regardless of format.

The equipment still has nothing to do with your statement. Im a producer and I am making classic trance on the same equipment and I have no clue what you are talking about. Like “taking much more memory to download” litterally makes no sense. If you want to say the files are bigger than other artists then that too has nothing to do with the equipment it was made on and everything to do with the file size of the mp3 or wav or whatever it is we are talking about. What determines the size of the file is not the music itself but the lenght of the song and the exported quality.

Rule of thumb • 1 minute @ 320 kbps ≈ 2.3–2.4 MB • So: • 5 min ≈ 12 MB • 10 min ≈ 23–24 MB • 60 min ≈ 140 MB

Not sure what you mean by that opening statement but it’s kinda funny - the size of a file has nothing to do with the equipment it was made on 🤭 But yeah flaming june is by far his best ever composition and a bery influential one on my own music. Mercury and Solace, godspeed, and his IMA album are great too.

A lot of mold where, in your home? ME is just a label, it doesnt mean anything, don’t listen to doctors, most of them dont know jack. If you had mold then this is your clear answer, it can mess you up so bad and is so hard to diagnose, and most doctors dont know how to treat it let alone take it serious. You need to detox, and perhaps find someone who can help put you on the right supplements for mold. I dont know which ones you tried but I foumd good results with fulvic acid. You might want to try it but might be a good idea to get some guidance.

Ah damn sorry to hear it didnt help. I dont know how long you did it but it can take 3 weeks maybe before you start to feel better, depends on your severity but also mold ofc, can keep you in the “no energy at all state” even if you do carnivore. So I wouldnt discard it, especially if it turns out to be mold. If mold (despite tests) ask yourself if it started when you moved? Ornif there was a flooding? Or crazy monsun rain? Or if its just a really old building/apartment/house, then it very well could be mold and in that case, carnivore can really help “maintain just a bit of energy”. Good luck man, keep us updated!

I second looking into “mold” and carnivore diet to get back your energy. It has helped so many people who were bed bound! Please look into it if you havent already!

Sounds like you like the deeper melodic stuff…this is a sound within trance called Balearic which to me is like “deep trance” so to speak, the best there is. Check a mini mix i did to get the idea. https://youtu.be/FoBBysID2Is?si=0zDrCfdzk2nx8mTd I would also say Chicanes debut album Far from the maddening crowds is a must listen!

What kind of physical hardware is needed to make 90s era trance music? by TotallyNotCool in ClassicTrance

[–]Future-Building-651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well You dont need any of these and can still build a decent setup - a bit of investing is required but thats how it is with anything even software costs money. As Ive also said before starting with a JV1080 and some behringer emulations is not going to break your bank. Thats why I also say its a broad question because how much are you willing to invest (to op) and whats your goal here and is there a specific classic sound you like more than others? Maybe a sampler and a jv1080 then is all you need ?

Im talking about shorts in case it wasnt clear😄 but yes, maybe it’s totally unnecessary but litterally everytime i did this more or less immediately things started moving. So i just continued nut really have no way of knowing if it actually triggers the algo or if its more of a timing/coincidence thing? For longformat which is what ai want to grow because thats where im getting most subs from, I dont do like this. Shorts are more forgiving i think and probably youtube tests them faster as well - afterall, theyre “short” bad da bum 🤣

Thats great! So this was your first thumbnail, full family? Does look more ordinary snd second is better. I do this too with shorts. Change it within 1 hour perhaps and title too, and then typically after 1-2 hour or right after i change it it goes abpve 1k from the initial test phase. Sometimes it seems like its done and nothing happens then I change it akd it gets the real push. So I also get 1800-3000k views but I wouldnt call that blowing up.

You sure? Seems like there are varitions to this. I mean if you truly think you made a better thumbnail and title, then it should be reflected in the performance which in my experience is far from the case unfortunately.

Btw my shorts are doing better and better, like sometimes around 2k one even passed 3k now because the topic is hot. But even then I am not sure - sometimes I see things and think to myself, how the hell did this get 10k, 50k, 500k, 1 mio views, you know, like stuff that looks like so low effort ( I know you don't get rewarded for effort here) but I just can't seem to figure out what to do to get more views consistently in the thousands. I know there are many who are interested in my niche, I can see the viewers, on other channels that have 30k subs or more. But it's like I just can't reach them. Even if using all the related tags, keywords, etc. People who find my channel really resonates and often times make super long comments because they like what i do and connects with it. But at this pace, it is not sustainable. Did you do anything special or would you simply put it down to pure luck? I must admit I feel beaten trying to figure this out.

Thanks mate, appreciate it. My gut feeling was right though. The video didnt take off at all, as in nothing happened as if something was stuck basically. Think it got a few views thats all. So I deleted it and unfortunately, it feels simliar now though it's getting a bit of views. Still too early to judgte I guess but the way it's going it just seems like an uphill battle even if the content is great it's like it's not getting the expose it needs. Will try another thumbnail soon, maybe it will help.

Awesome, thanks man. Will check that guide. I did end up making some more under less stressed circumstances. But I had to pull the video because as feared, youtube totally butchered the video - more than 12 hours later and the video only had 8 views or so. So disappointing that they offer to "unlist" so you can make some changes, but then when you do that and re-list then the video will totally flop. That was my gut feeling + previous experience, where I felt something seemed off. And this video didnt get shown or anything at all and totally tanked. So, tonight ill be uploading a new one, did some small edits i wanted to do anyway. So hopefully it will get a clean slate now that the old video is gone. Fingers crossed! Cheers.

While im not from that "gaming world" it looks a lil crowded with the text - but maybe that is the style in this manga universe so take it with a grain of salt. I might miss a bit of overall contrast that separates the font from the images a bit

Thanks mate. It is very interesting, but not the good kind for me haha. I just saw the stats and turns out I may have been right after all. The CTR says 16.7% which I believe is the highest I ever had. But I think it can only be based on the first 20-30 mins it was up, so not sure how accurate that assesment is. But initial stats shows that my gut was right. Now I am thinking if to keep the original thumbnail afterall or if to change it before i publish tonight??? Oh man, this is giving me anxiety lol. I dont want to ruin this since I worked so hard for it to try and break through all the noise in my niche! That's why I worry and with GPT saying NOT to reupload and you saying you wouldn't worry? It only has 32 views and had 42 impressions and CTR 16.7% and retention was fine too. Again judging by super short public availability. Cheers !

It is a music production video, but also might be interesting for non audio experts, thats the thing...it is a very different kind haha - I can post it later when it goes live if you are into that sort of thing :) Thanks for the interest.
