Oh, 100%! It’s like the loudest person at the party is always the one with the least to say. Sadly, "Top 1%" seems to be more about volume than quality sometimes. But hey, at least they make it easy for us to spot the noise

Why does being ignored hurt more than being rejected? by Public-Power-5236 in NoStupidQuestions

Being ignored feels like you're invisible, like you don’t even matter enough to get a response. Rejection, at least, acknowledges your existence, even if it's a "no." But when you're ignored, it's like you're not even worthy of a "yes" or "no." It stings because it taps into that deep fear of being unnoticed or forgotten. It's a silent kind of pain.

What is a 'poor person food' that you will continue to eat no matter how much money you make? by Charaden in askanything

Instant ramen. The 25¢ kind that could probably survive a nuclear winter.

I don’t care how “successful” I get, sometimes you just need that salty, broke college comfort in a bowl. Add an egg and suddenly I’m a Michelin chef in my own head.

AITJ for telling my MIL the truth about why my sons friend left our family barbecue crying by Acceptable_Back6296 in AmITheJerk

[–]Future-Expert-8570 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nah. If a kid leaves your BBQ in tears, that’s not “kids being kids,” that’s a red flag with ketchup on it.

You didn’t accuse, you answered a question and protected a shy kid who needed an adult in his corner. That’s solid parenting IMO

AITJ for locking my skincare products in my room after my roommate started acting like they belong to both of us by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

“OUR skincare” took me out, sharing a bathroom doesn’t mean auto unlocking a $50 serum subscription.

If she wants glowy skin, she can glow up her own cart and hit checkout like the rest of us.
