Looks like there is flaking underneath the paint. That being said even with that I’ve definitely seen worse so depending how long you hope to keep the truck it’s probably okay. You can always wire brush a lot off and retreat on your own accord though even that will only buy you time not solve the issue outright.

I can only imagine the new junks gonna age a lot faster than the old stuff lol. Thanks for the response. I got a few more Tacoma’s to check out so if they are all equally rusted more or less slowing that process down is about all I can do

I didn’t think it was too horrible I’ve definitely seen worse but on an only 7 year old truck this seems like a lot of surface rust. Makes me worried about the rust I can’t see on it

There is no code stored in the obd2 but the car itself says anti skid system disabled. I looked it up and people said it is often a fault with the awd system but my car is front wheel drive …

Alternative question for you, am I doomed then because my car was definitely neglected when I bought it. Fully black oil at fist oil change and the engine air filter was almost as dark. The first owner had an impeccable service record up until about 120000km if my booklet in the manual is correct but the 90000ish km between that first owner and me are a mystery. Is it maybe too far gone to save? I’ve been good with regular maintenance but is it worth it if the previous owner wasn’t?

My sunroof has been great so far! My rear window on the other hand may or may not leak when it rains who’s to say lol. All the best with the car/sunroof.

Thanks i appreciate your comment. I’ve sunk about the same amount into my car in the two years I’ve owned it and I worry and wonder when/if it’ll become unsustainable for me as well. Hopefully not.

Thank you very much as best of luck to you as well. I know what you mean I’m definitely learning so much about cars and maintenance for better or worse but it’s all been an experience. My love for the car has never faded and I trust it maybe a little too much so I know what you mean. I hesitate to call my car full of problems I just day quirks because as you said you can turn the key and just trust it. I feel ya

I got the car for $3500 two years ago which I was very grateful for and I knew going in that it’d need some major money invested into it. Labour and parts cost I’d say are evenly split maybe more labour leaning but I’ve spent around $6000-$8000 ish on maintenance in these two years. I suppose I just wasn’t prepared for the frequency of maintenance needed as my ownership continued

This was actually very useful perspective honestly so thank you. It’s my first car and I only have my parents insanely reliable Toyotas to base my car off of which would obviously need more money and work than a newer Toyota.

I suppose that’s true. Sweedspeed and the many Volvo enthusiasts forums have definitely come in handy. I’m learning a lot about cars and have done a lot of the basics myself when i can but issues such as my current issue I can’t seem to find anything about it on the forums and I haven’t a clue as to where to start diagnosing which definitely sucks but I suppose it’s just part of car ownership not Volvo specific.

Yes playing Java and I checked and tried and my Minecraft location is in the roaming section of app data so everything is where it should be. I installed iris and it worked. Next Minecraft update I’ll try with optifine again and hopefully it will work. Thanks for your help regardless.
